That is the most significant and stirring England win of most of our lifetimes. Unbelievable character to defend like that with 10 men for so long. I genuinely didn't think they had it in them.

Stokes retiring makes me even less invested in English cricket. Another hero moving on. Once Root retires, I’ll have little interest left. This is the end of the last generation of England players for whom Test cricket was the pinnacle. I don’t feel as connected to the new breed.

Aston Villa end their 30 year wait for a trophy in Europe.
Spurs ended a 17 year wait for a trophy in Europe.
West Ham ended a 43 year wait for a trophy in Europe.
Palace have a very good chance of winning their first European trophy next week.
Massive congratulations to Villa and I don't mean to take anything away from those teams, or their supporters...
But the financial advantage that the Premier League has over the rest of Europe, appears to have ruined the competitive balance in the Europa League and Conference League.
Real Madrid, Bayern, PSG, Barcelona, they'll always be able to compete in the Champions League due to their immense pull in attracting the best talent...
But in the two competitions below? Different story.

Aston Villa wage bill for 24/25 was reportedly £273m, Freiburg's was £20.6m.

⚽️ The frustrated AIK supporters held nothing back at full-time after their side slumped to a seventh defeat from their last nine outings… 🫣

🇸🇪 Game 2️⃣ saw @hammarbyfotboll cruise to a classy 3-0 win over @MjallbyAIFs.
⚽️ Nahir Besara led the second-half surge with two goals inside 15 minutes of the restart and Oscar Johansson later added gloss from the penalty spot.
