They’re so curious! We bring these every time we go to the pond. They’re laminated plant/animal ID posters. Thanks for the posters, W.M.! 😁🐾🐝🦋🍄 #enviroed @takemeoutside @ChildrenNature

My 11 year old got lost and asked for help at a library. They told her she couldn't call her mom from the phone and should use a payphone. She said she didn't know how. They said they couldn't help and she ended up crying alone on the street corner @torontolibrary

We love taking the time to stop and listen to the sounds of nature on our walks. 🌳🌳 On this particular day the children were invited to choose a stick. We then compared them and talked about size. Lots of math dialogue 🙂 @PeelSchools #enviroed @ChildrenNature

We had 6 bikes that needed to be put away (down the hall and around the corner) and only 5 children with me. So of course I used that opportunity to ride the extra one. 😆 Weeeeee!!! @PeelSchools

Where are the resources coming from to support this? Why is this dropping literally with under a week left of school? How many schools are backlogged for repair? I know the answer to all these questions as it is the same, YOU DON’T KNOW AND YOU DON’T CARE. #FireLecce

Well, isn't this having the intended effect to distract from the elephant in the room. Schools are in chaos, funding significantly cut, violence is way up, classes cancelled daily w/no teachers to cover. But hey folks, clap your hands for cursive, phonics, critical thought.

Sweet, 6 school days left in the year, when will these resources be given to educators to deliver them in the Fall? Don’t expect us to do it over the summer, we don’t even have a contract right now. Who works without a contract on their vacation time? 🤔 #SketchyLecce

A little video showing one of our class “pet” snails. We’ve been observing and taking care of them for a few weeks. The children have so many questions, make discoveries (including discovering snail eggs have been laid over the weekend!). 🐌🌿 @PeelSchools #enviroed – at Mississauga, Ontario

Those who know me know how passionate I am about outdoor learning. Dandelion and snail discoveries (we’ve had the snails as class “pets” for a few weeks now). 🐌🌿@PeelSchools #enviroed – at Mississauga, Ontario

I very much enjoyed facilitating at today’s #PeelEYC outdoor conference. Met many educators who also love outdoor learning. 🌳🌿🐾 We learned a lot from each other. @PeelSchools #enviroed – at Brighton, Ontario

So beautifully said! 🌻 – at Mississauga, Ontario
When my daughter was in junior high, we had a meeting with the school counselor because she was struggling academically. I’ll never forget what the counselor told me because it hurt my mama’s heart. She told me that college wasn’t in my daughter’s best interest. She wanted us to lower the bar. But you see, as the expert in this child, I knew she was capable and gifted. I knew she could do anything she set her mind to do. It may not have happened in the time span typically given but it happened nonetheless. I’m so proud of her determination and perseverance. Instead of lowering expectations, support children, believe in them, show them that they can do nearly anything they set their minds on doing.
