So City are to be relegated to the Championship as punishment? Talk about patronising. What are we twenty odd places below, Devil's fucking Island? We don't want them. Moping about like they're in an open prison. Fuck em off to non-league.

Well after today’s announcement from the Bank of England, there is something very, very, very wrong in the system. So … let me get this straight: * British Gas made a profit of £1.3bn between January & June * BP announced profits of £6.95 billion between April and June alone * Shell has profited by £9.4bn in a year The MEN at the top: * John Pettigrew, boss of National Grid received £6.5m bonus on top of his salary * Chris O’Shea, chief executive of British Gas owner Centrica was paid almost £2m last year in salary and benefits * Centrica's non-executive directors were paid almost £1m * Scottish Power's CEO Keith Anderson is on £1.15m. * E.On boss Michael Lewis is on £1m * EDF's Simone Rossi is also on £1m * And their top execs enjoyed a share of £4.65m * Peter Simpson of Anglian Water earned a £1.3m pay package * Welsh Water bosses awarded themselves bonuses of over £930,000 * Severn Trent bosses awarded themselves bonuses of £5.56m * Thames Water's Sarah Bentley, received a £727,000 bonus on top of her £2m annual salary Meanwhile there are... * People who haven't had breakfast and/or lunch TODAY, because they can't afford it. * People using FoodBanks because food is becoming more of a luxury than a necessity. * Children celebrating a birthday without presents. * Parents worrying about new school uniforms - and some schools enforcing rules which are not cost-effective. * People who can't get to work because they can't afford to put petrol in their cars/pay for public transport anymore. * People who are working so much they're making themselves ill, and they STILL CAN'T AFFORD to pay their bills. * People who have been given fines by these same energy/water companies because they couldn't afford to pay their bills in the first place - increasing their debt. * Customers being told to do STAR JUMPS TO KEEP WARM for crying out loud! * Hose pipe bans when gallons of water leak away everyday. * Elderly people NOT DRINKING because they're worried about running out of water!!! All this and energy prices are set to rise up to 75% in October... THIS IS MADNESS!.. I'm all for supporting profits … I'm not for supporting greed at the cost of lives of others. Something needs to change. Why is customers' money being used to make life more comfortable for those who are making life more intolerable for the rest of us? I actually don't understand how the energy companies are allowed to get away with this and why the government aren't stopping them instead of handing out money.....

All it took was £451.3m spent this summer, three unbelievably fortunate refereeing decisions, and a foundation built off two decades of financial doping. Bravo 👏

Helen, Helen, Helen Let me explain this to you in plain and exceedingly simple English. Disabled kids are most likely to have been born with their disabilities or conditions (as I was). I know this might be shocking to you Helen, but we don't just stop being disabled at 18. Being born with a disability is usually a lifetime deal. I tell you what, care to swap? You can have my cerebral palsy (and the benefits that you say come with it) and I'll take your fully functioning extremities and become an MP. Not a Tory one though, because I'm not a horrible bastard. By the way, if you accept my offer, good luck trying to wipe your backside, put your own clothes on, wash any part of your body or doing any sort of cookery (since you won't be able to hold a knife properly) are, and one more thing, forget about rolling yourself over in bed at night, you'll have to get somebody to help you with that as well. But yeah, apart from that, a lifetime on benefits is really fucking easy isn't it?
Look at this chart 👇 Many if not most of the children on DLA will go onto PIP. Around half of children who get DLA become NEETs. There’s a clear path from child DLA to PIP to a lifetime on benefits. We must change this.

There is a mountain of unworn clothes in the driest desert on earth, large enough to be photographed from space. It grows by 39,000 tons a year and almost none of it will ever rot. The Atacama, in northern Chile, is a place where it may not rain for a decade. On its edge is a duty-free port called Iquique. Every year about 59,000 tons of clothing arrives there from Europe, America and Asia. It is last season's stock that never sold, and the bags people leave at charity shops. Dealers pick through it for anything they can resell across South America. Two thirds of it is worthless. Nobody will pay to ship it back out, so lorries drive it into the desert at night and tip it. The local landfill refuses to take it. The reason given is that the clothing does not biodegrade and is full of chemicals. Most of it is polyester, which is plastic, and in a place with no rain and no soil life it will lie there for centuries. Some of it is set alight, and the smoke drifts over a town of 100,000 people. In 2025 a Chilean court ruled that the dumps had done serious damage to the land. For most of history this could not have happened. Clothes were wool, linen and leather. They were worn out, handed down and patched, and at the very end a rag merchant paid for the scraps. In Yorkshire, from 1813, old woollens were shredded and spun into new cloth. Anything left went on the fields, where wool breaks down in months and feeds the grass. Nobody ever had to find a desert for worn-out wool. We invented a fabric that cannot die, and then we started making it to be thrown away.

Was that the same security services you dumped to visit ‘ex’ KGB colonel Alexander Lebedev and party in Umbria just after the Novichok Salisbury attack? Or the same security services whose advice you defied to put his son Evgeny in the House of Lords? Those security services?
This is just not true. As soon as I became foreign secretary I asked the security services the same question and they replied that there was no evidence of any successful interference in the 2016 referendum, by Russia or any other power. Either the security services have changed their view - which would be very odd - or Burnham is lying about what he has been told. After all Starmer was in power for two years and had access to exactly the same information. theguardian.com/technology/2…

That is not what he is doing. The tragedy you refer to may have spurred this, but what he is doing here is telling the world that he is the alpha predator. That’s the message, not commentary on what happened.
