“As for moving forward, that discussion was certainly clear. I don't want to go into any more detail than that, and I don't particularly want to reignite something that has already dragged on for far, far too long”
Question: With the happy event you experienced at the beginning of the week, congratulations, by the way, you haven't yet had the opportunity to talk about the discussion you had with Lewis and Fred. What can you tell us about it following the incidents in Mexico?
Charles: “Very honestly, as you said, it's true that my week has been... it was a dream week, of course not from a professional point of view 😂, but in moments like these, your personal life and the fact that my wife and I have become parents for the first time is something exceptional. So that's really the emotion from this week.
After that, the discussion had to happen, that's clear, and we had it. I think we talked things through, we both said what we thought, and it brought a lot of calm to the situation.

P13 in his first-ever F1 Quali 🇧🇷
A strong session from Rafa in tough conditions 👊 Grid penalties ahead mean he'll start his F1 debut from P11 tomorrow 👏

charles once again saying - tho journalists try to get smth more out of him - that he doesn’t think there’s a need to talk about what happened a whole week ago, cause he said everything he had to say from the get go and moved on with a light heart, is very classic charles

again, the only mature one in this situation who doesn’t want to create unnecessary drama and doesn’t need to start beef with his teammate for attention

"i'm feeling good (about the race). i mean, i'm looking forward to it. we knew, taking an engine penalty here, we knew that everything still needs to play out because you've got crazy weather all the time. it's good to see that the weather is still crazy for tomorrow, and hopefully that will give us an opportunity to come back onto the podium from where we start."
PLSSSS
The fact for him wet conditions at sauber were better than at ferrari should say everything 😭
some really good news from charles:
"knowing I had a 10-place penalty, i decided to be much more aggressive in the directions i was going in during qualifying, working on the wing and the various steering tools.
it's an experiment that will pay off, because i've been at ferrari for nine years, and i have to tell the truth: i've never had the feeling i had in the lower categories. in the lower categories, wet conditions were perhaps my absolute strength, while in F1, or rather, at ferrari, i've always struggled. we still have to find the right balance, but today is a positive day because we tried so many things.
in certain moments of qualifying, in conditions where there's usually no feeling with this car, the feeling was very good."

charles on the situation with lewis:
"i haven't had the chance to follow everything that's happened in the media.
however, i wanted to clarify my relationship with him and with ferrari. i think it's always necessary to have a discussion, but ultimately i don't think it's worth continuing to talk about it for so long. we've been talking about it for many days now, and i've spoken to him.
the most important thing for me was to clarify things. i gave him my opinion, he gave me his. we don't always have to agree on everything, but i think it's also important to close this chapter"

"it was very, very tricky, but at the same time, i felt like we've learned a huge amount today. i mean, it seems strange to say that because we cannot change a lot of things on the car in qualifying, but you can still change a few things. and i think we experimented a bit more than usual just because we knew we had a 10-grid-place penalty. and that was very useful because i think we understood- i mean, at least i understood quite a lot of things, and i'm pretty sure the team did as well. it has been one of the weaknesses for sure in the last few years, wet driving in general. and i felt like we had quite a good, quite a lot of pace today.
unfortunately, in Q3, we changed a few things, which helped us understand that it was not the right direction. at the same time, in Q1, it's been a long time since I've had a good feeling with the car in those conditions, which I did today. so i was relatively satisfied with that."
we cheer!!!!

i figured that was the case when he said he wanted to change something on the radio so this is good to see that they were trying to get a better understanding of the car.
put your philosophy hat on, sir
"it was a session where we had a lot of performance at certain points, and much less at others, especially on the inters towards the end. but honestly, it was a good session. we tried a lot of different things. we knew that we were going to take the penalty anyway, so we could afford to take a few more risks and experiment a lot more with the car, even stopping during the runs.
although we have parc fermé restrictions and cannot change too many things, there are still certain adjustments we can make, and they allowed us to understand a lot of things today. so, it was a positive session.
Obviously, the result is not satisfactory at all. We're not happy with fourth place, but I think we've always had a very tricky car to drive in the wet, and I think there are a few things we've understood today.”
