Dr. Beth Brown was an astrophysicist at @NASAGoddard who studied black holes. Roman will honor her legacy by not only exploring black holes, but finding an especially elusive kind that wanders the galaxy without anything nearby. #BHM

ALT Image illustrates the concept of gravitational microlensing with a black hole. When the black hole appears to pass nearly in front of a background star, the light rays of the source star become bent due to the warped space-time around the foreground black hole. It becomes a virtual magnifying glass, amplifying the brightness of the distant background star.
A great day for @LISACommunity! #Astro2020 co-chair: "LISA is an incredibly exciting opportunity and NASA needs to invest appropriately to ensure that it achieves the capabilities envisioned by #Astro2010 and aggressively supports the US science community."

Comment by #Astro2020 co-chair: "LISA is an incredibly exciting opportunity..." and the survey report recommends @NASA aggressively support the US #science community to achieve the full scope of @LISAmission's capabilities. High praise!

Turning error data into science: ‘housekeeping’ data collected by the long-duration #Rosetta & #Mars Express spacecraft have provided a unique look at cosmic ray behaviour with distance from the Sun and over the course of the solar cycle. 👉esa.int/Science_Exploration/…

Team Bockelmann’s plan for the 5K tomorrow: head to the Baskin-Robbins (2.6K). Get ice cream. Walk back home (2.6K). Gia is stretching by eating an ice cream sandwich now.

Package from stranger. Seems scary. But Sesame Street stamps are friendly and not at all scary. Should I open it?

A gaggle of geese, a herd of cows … what should we call a group of black holes (besides a terrifying idea 😱)? Scientists don’t have a word for this yet, but our friends at @ESA’s LISA mission were wondering — what would you use? #BlackHoleWeek⚫
The NASA LISA Study Team is having waaay too much fun thinking of a word for a collective of black holes (like a murder of crows). What do you think they should be called?
