Bogdan Święczkowski, the legal president of the Constitutional Tribunal, arrived at the building. His passes were revoked, and the president was not allowed to enter the Tribunal. He addressed the police officers, saying that covering their faces would not prevent them from being identified if they continued to commit crimes. He then addressed the Poles, saying, "The Constitutional Tribunal is not a building, it's the judges," which could be historic words for freedom and the fight against authoritarian rule.

The Minister of Justice and the Prosecutor General (the same person) have filed a motion with the Constitutional Tribunal to waive the immunity of its legal president, Bogdan Świeczkowski, in connection with a report of failure to perform his duties to the detriment of, among others, Judge Anna Korwin-Piotrowska. This is the same person who illegally suspended the President of the Constitutional Tribunal from his duties today, appointing herself his successor. Now, she would be deciding whether to waive the President's immunity in a case in which she is allegedly a victim.

The Constitutional Tribunal's spokeswoman revealed that the person usurping the duties of the President of the Constitutional Tribunal was led into the bunker by officers of the state security service (a service similar to the Diplomatic Security Service). Constitutional Tribunal judges are not entitled to permanent protection from these services. It must be granted on a case-by-case basis by the Minister of Internal Affairs through an express decision. The statutory premise is the good of the state. Police officers followed the officers into the Constitutional Tribunal's premises. This began the final phase of the extralegal takeover of the Tribunal.

The order indicates that Judge Korwin-Piotrowska is acting as a substitute for the legitimate President of the Constitutional Tribunal for the duration of his suspension. An individual who is not a judge of the Constitutional Tribunal has unlawfully signed an order concerning herself, effectively making herself the President of the Constitutional Tribunal *de facto*.

The order was signed by Judge Anna Korwin-Piotrowska—an individual elected as a judge of the Constitutional Tribunal who has not yet taken the oath, which, under Polish law, is a prerequisite for establishing an official legal status and commencing one’s term of office.

Media report that the Constitutional Tribunal’s website has been compromised, with a statement posted on it announcing the suspension of the Tribunal’s President. This action was taken via an unauthorized order issued by a single Constitutional Tribunal judge.

Under the cover of night and in the absence of the President of the Republic of Poland from the country, the police have forcibly taken control of the empty Constitutional Tribunal building. The police claim that activities posing a threat to health and life were allegedly taking place inside the vacant building over the weekend. Despite this, the Tribunal’s own security personnel, the Vice-President of the Tribunal, and its director are being denied entry. In violation of the law, the police officers have obscured the identification numbers and names on their uniforms—a practice typically employed when an officer knows they are breaking the law and wishes to avoid being identified. President Karol Nawrocki has ordered the presidential aircraft, which was en route to Senegal, to turn back; he is now returning to Poland. Previously, the President had warned Prime Minister Donald Tusk that any attempt to forcibly enter the Constitutional Tribunal would be met with a firm response. Article 128 of the Polish Penal Code stipulates that anyone who, with the intent to remove a constitutional body of the Republic of Poland by force, engages in activities directly aimed at achieving this objective, is subject to a prison sentence of up to 20 years. Two years ago, the President of the Constitutional Tribunal filed a notification with the prosecutor's office, alleging that the government—under the direction of Prime Minister Donald Tusk—had committed the crime of a coup d'état. The process of authoritarian consolidation in Poland continues. The assault on the Constitutional Tribunal and the President represents the final stages of a complete, undemocratic seizure of power. Once again in its history, Poland is fighting against totalitarianism.

‼️ A COUP IS HAPPENING IN POLAND 🇵🇱 Poland's Constitutional Tribunal is being subjected to an extraordinary takeover operation by pro-EU Prime Minister Donald Tusk. Its official website has been taken over, an announcement has appeared removing its president and vice-president from their duties, and police have been deployed around the institution. The Tribunal's existing leadership has declared the operation illegal and accused those responsible of committing a coup d'état. The Constitutional Tribunal is the institution responsible for reviewing whether laws comply with the Constitution. It is broadly comparable to the constitutional-review function of the United States Supreme Court. Today, its website announced that President Bogdan Święczkowski and Vice-President Bartłomiej Sochański had been suspended for one month. The person now claiming authority over Poland's Constitutional Tribunal is Anna Korwin-Piotrowska, elected to the Tribunal by Donald Tusk's parliamentary majority in March 2026. But there is a fundamental legal problem: she has never taken her judicial oath before the President of Poland, Karol Nawrocki. Under Article 4 of the Act on the Status of Constitutional Tribunal Judges, newly elected judges must take their oath before the President of the Republic. Nawrocki refused to receive her oath. Instead, on April 9, Korwin-Piotrowska participated in an alternative swearing-in ceremony organised inside the Polish Parliament, without the President's presence or participation. The Presidential Chancellery explicitly declared that this procedure had no legal basis and could not confer judicial authority. The existing leadership of the Constitutional Tribunal maintains that she is therefore not legally a judge of the institution. And now, a woman whose authority to serve as a constitutional judge is rejected by the President and the Tribunal's existing leadership is being presented as the person entitled to take control of the entire court. Poland's Constitution does not give the prime minister or his government the power to dismiss the Constitutional Tribunal's leadership. Article 194 establishes the Tribunal's composition and the procedure for appointing its president. Article 195 guarantees the independence of its judges. The announcement of a suspension relies on Article 130 of the law governing ORDINARY COURTS. Invoking this article to suspend the leadership of the Constitutional Tribunal is a legally indefensible distortion of the law, revealing a staggering disregard for elementary constitutional principles. HOW DID POLAND GET HERE? Donald Tusk returned to power in December 2023, promising to reverse the judicial reforms introduced under the conservative Law and Justice government. Those reforms had been fiercely opposed by the European Commission, which initiated rule-of-law proceedings against Poland and linked access to European funding to judicial conditions. Tusk's government subsequently presented Brussels with a programme for restructuring the judiciary, including the Constitutional Tribunal. The European Commission welcomed that programme and ended its Article 7 proceedings against Poland in 2024. The methods used by the EU and its supporters undermine the very constitutional principles they claim to restore. President Karol Nawrocki has reportedly interrupted his journey to Senegal to return to Poland.

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman believes people owning RAM is wasteful, and that it belongs in data centers instead. "From a global allocation perspective, actually, it’s quite terrible to have everyone have a bunch of the world’s limited supply of DRAM sitting in their own computer."
