The Govt’s position still intuitively seems wrong to me but yeah, this brief convinced me that they have a pretty good argument under the caselaw. But also that unless and until they get an indictment, none of this really matters
The government’s brief against Comey’s motion to dismiss in the leak case isn’t bad. But it’s a complicated issue that the government could lose in District Court or on appeal. And it was so unnecessary. Why didn’t they indict earlier? They had all the time in the world and wasted it. Like bad clock management by a football team. storage.courtlistener.com/re…
This but also it’s totally fine for a fiancé to refuse to vote for the guy who beat his soon-to-be-wife. Family first
Depicting Jewish concerns over anti-Semitism as "prioritizing a personal grievance" is a pretty good explanation for why so many Michigan Jews are voting for Rogers.
When Democrats make clear they don't care about Jewish fears of anti-Semitism, and they don't believe that Democratic candidates who have used anti-Semitic tropes and campaigned with anti-Semites have a responsibility to reassure Jewish voters, they are saying the quiet part out loud: they simply don't care about Jewish safety and security.
I wasn't a huge Goldman fan but respect for this.

My values, my identity and my community are far more important to me than any individual election result. Regardless, it’s widely understood that I lost in my particular district for the same reasons this ad is repugnant, blatantly false, and incites even more violence against Jews.
And sadly, you consistently add fuel to this slanderous and anti-Jewish fire.

"Say thank you to the Rebbe. It’s all the Rebbe’s blessings.”
SMH
I can’t tell you how many times I walked out of meetings with my father where a donor had just given one, five, or ten million dollars.
I thought my father would be ecstatic.
Instead, as we walked out, he would always look at me and say:
“Call the Ohel (the Rebbe’s resting place). Say thank you to the Rebbe. It’s all the Rebbe’s blessings.”
To him, it wasn’t about the money. It was about the impact that donation could now have.
Being able to help people. To do another program. To help another Shliach.
I think that was the key to his success in fundraising. When it’s truly about the mission for you, people feel it.
This. Lots of liberals today acting like Arab parties have no independent views or agency.
Much of the boycott of the Arab parties today is on ideological grounds though. The only Arab party which could reasonably be included is Ra'am
If Seif el-Din el-Zoubi's Democratic List of Nazareth existed today, it'd be acceptable. But that's a different party than Joint List
Meanwhile Hadash-Ta'al on principle won't join any government and Balad on principle won't even help to bring down Bibi.
This tweet could just as easily say: “This morning’s headlines would have read ‘Eisenkot soundly defeated” if only the Bibi block valued democracy more than ethnic supremacy.” Which proves how empty this take is.
These takes are all so silly. The Arab parties are not somehow natural allies to the opposition. Being pro or anti-Bibi is not the only axis in Israeli politics.

I am skeptical of these sort of prosecutions but if the Trump Klein conspiracy charge and the Mackey prosecution theories are valid, I'm not sure why this one wouldn't be.
As @SeanJCooksey and I have explained, efforts to find someone with the same name to trick voters into not voting for their intended candidate is not just s dirty trick. It's a conspiracy against rights. The latest from the NYT should give the U.S. Attorney plenty to work with.
Correct. Prosecutors will never learn but political prosecutions are almost always a terrible idea.
The problem with these takes is the assumption that all Arab parties (leaving aside racism) would necessarily be allies of the loose anti-Bibi camp. But why? Ultimately, they’re no more nature allies for the anti-Bibi block than the Bibi block. They have their own political views
