Brilliant work you volunteers. Without volunteers the game would not take place
Hallam FC@HallamFC18601h
The power of volunteers 💪🏼 Big thanks to our wonderful volunteers who’ve been hard at work today cleaning both inside and out after a busy weekend up at Sandygate. Also thanks to @PonteCollsFC who left the away changing room as clean as possible! 🧹 #HallamFC

Still is Geoff- what is happening to our sloppy officiating?
Geoff Pearson@Geoff_PearsonOct 25
It's been 20 years since I qualified as a ref, so I may be out of touch, but having your feet on the ground used to be required when you took a throw in. Have the laws changed? Because I see this all the time and there's no excuse for an assistant ref not to spot it.

You are correct - the main task is the safety of the players

I'm confused? The referees job is to decide whether the pitch will safely allow 90 minutes of football. They don't need to care about what the pitch is going to look like afterwards, the day after or in two days time.

Give the BIG C a red card Harry.
Football HQ
@FootballHQOct 24
Harry, an 18-year-old Leeds United fan, has just got his 3rd round of chemotherapy done, which takes him to the halfway mark. Not a single complaint out of him either, and he's up on his feet in the shirt. Absolute warrior 👏🏻👏🏻

This is always a tough decision for the referee. With standing water and more to come there is that risk of extra damage to the playing surface that impacts on the season ahead. Disappointing when you are leading 4-1. I always once started finished the game.
Sheffield Football Club@sheffieldfcOct 24
Unfortunately the referee has abandoned the game 15 minutes into the second half as there is standing water on the pitch. A bitter pill to swallow as we go 4-1 up. We will make an announcement on the return leg in due course.

Another shocking error by the Referee

Deji Elerewe will be available for Lincoln City’s next match following a successful claim of wrongful dismissal. The player was sent off for denying an obvious goal-scoring opportunity during their EFL Championship game against Millwall on Saturday 17 October.

This is a straight red card
Fal@martyfsmOct 21
How is that not a sending off, two straight years Stockport should’ve had a man sent off at home. Dirty cunts, granted they still would’ve beaten us with 10 men

Too many cooks and lacking a Chief to give leadership and direction. No wonder some of our referees are not operating at their optimum
Graham Scott@RefsplainingOct 21
Sat 10: Referee makes a decision so obviously wrong that the VAR tells him to change it Thurs 14: Expert panel tells the FA that the VAR was obviously wrong Wed 20: Premier League says the VAR was obviously right and the ref was obviously wrong From now on: Confusion. Obviously

Thoughts with his family and friends RIP John
The Wednesday Voice
@TheWedVoiceOct 22
Today, our very own John Tompkins is finally laid to rest. 💙 Our thoughts and prayers are with John’s family and friends, as we remember someone who was sadly taken from our Wednesday family far too soon. From everyone at The Wednesday Voice, we want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the time we had the privilege of working alongside you. It was an absolute pleasure. Your commitment to making a difference in our local community, your passion for getting Sheffield Wednesday back to being the club we all know and love, and your part in forming this group to ensure every fan has a voice will never be forgotten. John, your dedication to the Wednesday family and your determination to do good, right up until you could no longer do so, were truly inspiring. We promise to continue the work you cared so deeply about - standing up for our supporters, fighting for the future of our football club, and helping as many people as we can in our local community. Your legacy will live on through everything we do. Rest in peace, John. Thank you for everything. 🦉💙

Grant makes a very valuable and correct point. The 4th official is often occupied in dealing with occupants of the Technical area rather thansupporting the referee in the decision making process.

“He cannot do anything about it” That is not the response of a manager who clearly failed to prepare the team tactics.
