The most difficult part of this entire struggle is trying to convey information about a deeply technical debate to non-technical people. Statuette is undoubtedly one of the best at succeeding in conveying this. Yesterday, the network state team published an update to snapchain, which took effect two hours after release. This broke replication to any peer who did not upgrade. When I worked for merkle, we had a process for releases, so that non-emergency (which this was) updates gave node runners an entire month to upgrade. When neynar took over, with no announcement to change in process, they shortened it to a week window. And apparently, as of yesterday, it has been shortened further to two hours. This is fine when you're rolling out code to your own fleet. You control it! But when you roll it out, with no announcement, to a p2p network, you're telling people that their nodes don't matter. And that message is true anyway, because any node that isn't theirs is actually read only. When you hear someone posting messages to a snapchain node they own, it doesn't actually participate in any meaningful way – read only nodes simply forward on the message to the NS-controlled validators. Hypersnap will change this in the next release for our side of the fork – we will resume a more reasonable upgrade cadence, and we will cut ties with their validator set so that any node can actually participate in building data on the network. We aren't surprised to see what happened with the new (sort of) snapchain team, and our bar is so low for disappointment with their team that this is essentially a non-event. They embody neither the ideals of decentralization, nor the technical skills to achieve it.
GM! Today on @farcaster_xyz Resistance HQ Diaries: Staryear 2026 | Day 9 of the Resistance Our new overlords assured us we are absolutely FREE to leave once they execute the cockroaches infesting their APIs. I fully support this. Those bad roaches kept telling us to bend the knee! However, today we found out sleeping is not compatible with freedom... Who knew? 🤷‍♀️ This morning, my fellow peasants and I were trying to find out whether the cockroaches had been taken care of. To our surprise, we found several farcaster clients frozen in time! One GitHub archaeological expedition later, we discovered a sneaky chain upgrade whose final activation schedule was merged barely two hours before it took effect! Perhaps digital felons aren’t on the mailing list but we feel grateful for the warning hidden inside the PS about the nodes that would stop working. So it turns out, decentralization means spending your Saturday morning figuring out what our new overlords changed while we were asleep. We’re still investigating the frozen clients and those “bend the knee” errors. But overall, the decentralized democracy experience is going beautifully. My casts eventually escaped through one client and appeared in another. We are now communicating with our homes via digital carrier pigeons. 🙏 to be continued…

Well, this didn’t age well… Looks like I’m now banned from @farcaster_xyz which tbf was well deserved..😂 But apparently my NO vote got banned too! My status is now “pending.” Nothing says democracy quite like manually adjusting the numbers until reality looks more flattering. Lol.. A truly groundbreaking experiment in digital democracy. 👏 🙄
Gm, with a reminder: I wasn’t banned. I voted no and got exiled. I want nothing to do with this authoritarian group. I just don’t want to lose my family and my home in the process of leaving.

Hard at work on (not) Farcaster, ensuring our decentralized communities live on and flourish. Our team's working on both a brand new browser build for HyperSnap (seen below), alongside a Terminal build for all your agentic needs. Open beta ASAP. Let's get our home back.

I've been getting a lot of dms asking why I chose to fight against the new, broken @farcaster_xyz model. Apologies for not being able to respond to everyone individually. Please consider this as my collective response. For more context, pls read the full thread linked below👇

this isn't just another index token. those have existed for years. in fact me and a few others launched the first meme index token on base nearly 3 years ago. what we have built here is full multi-chain index infrastructure across base and robinhood chain: native dex pools, permissionless dutch-auction rebalancing, 24/7 oracle stack (chainlink + 24/5 overnight + weekend twap), zero management dilution, fees streaming back into holder nav, and index-paired token launches. this is an entire asset standard and launch layer and i can confidently say its the best index infra that exists onchain (its on base and robinhood) if you want early access to launch an index lmk.
just bought the mag 7 on robinhood chain. deployed MAG7 this evening, the first index on bankr: one token backed by a basket of up to 20 tokens. and on MAG7, the trading fees go to the holders. every buy, a uniswap v4 hook buys all 7 stocks from their own pools and mints MAG7. every sell burns MAG7 and sells the basket. one transaction either way. the index itself needs no LP, so creators don’t need to provide liquidity to launch one. it’s already in the pools of the tokens it holds. this isn’t possible without uniswap hooks. the fees: MAG7 charges 0.50% a trade. i set my creator cut to 0, so 0.30% of every buy and sell goes back into the basket for holders, and 0.20% to the protocol. nobody claims anything. it’s released into the basket over 24h, so after every trade each MAG7 is backed by a little more. creators pick a fee of 0.25–1% at launch and it never changes. the index never market-sells when rebalancing. it runs dutch auctions, offering what it holds too much of at a price that starts good for holders and gets cheaper every minute until someone fills it. anyone can fill. every rebalance gets 48h notice, so holders can leave first. you can always swap MAG7 back for the 7 stocks directly. no fee, works without bankr, can’t be paused. i also seeded a small USDG/MAG7 pool on uniswap so it shows up on dexscreener. but buy on bankr. it goes straight through the hook, which mints new MAG7 at the basket’s price, as deep as the 7 stocks’ own pools rather than my small one. hook trades are also the ones that pay holders. if the pool drifts, arbs close the gap. it’s early. we’re getting the hook supported in wallets and aggregators before the full rollout. right now it’s just me creating indexes. soon anyone can make their own on base or robinhood. and then: pairing. you’ll be able to launch a token paired with an index. buying your coin buys the index, the index buys the basket, and your creator fees come in the index. buying MAG7 on bankr isn’t available in the US or UK.

Ok had some time to sleep on this. My problems with the new Balaji rules for Farcaster and why I voted no: - The consent is coerced. "Not now" and "Vote to leave" both make your account read-only. You either submit or lose your voice in the client you built your audience on. - It isn't really a vote. Voting to stay means handing the core team the power to rewrite the Network Code whenever they like, with no ongoing say for you. That's closer to a loyalty oath than to democracy, and the onchain NFT makes who signed public and permanent. Plus dangling an NFT to a web3 audience feels like an attempt to buy votes from degens who love minting NFTs. - The rules reach back in time. The new code applies to your past posts, written before any of these rules existed. I’ve seen countless reports of users being banned already the minute they log back in, from something they said years ago. - The standards are vague. "Starting or feeding fights," "low-quality posts," "clear hoaxes" and "hyping token prices repeatedly" can stretch to cover almost any dissent. HIGHLY subjective and becomes a kingdom, not a democracy. - "Rule of code" is mostly marketing. The prompts can change at any time, they admit to "manual judgment calls," and nothing mentions appeals or notice before a penalty. - Membership is ideological. The app is pitched as a community "for techno-optimists," and people who "don't like the idea of Singapore" are told to leave. That filters people by viewpoint, not conduct. And Singapore is a strange model to pick for speech, given its fake-news law and its record of defamation suits. I am a proud techno-optimist. But I am also a proud freedom of speech absolutist, and proponent of decentralization. Calling this approach “techno optimism” feels more like gaslighting and a power trip on Balaji’s part to me.
Update: I just did a deep dive on what is going on with @farcaster_xyz after the @balajis acquisition Not jumping to conclusions just yet but my initial impression is that this is extremely concerning I’d welcome a conversation with @balajis to hear him out More tomorrow

Decentralized social is important. Yesterday's actions by Farcaster, preemptively banning long-serving community members as an AI decided they "didn't fit the Singaporean citizen model" is frankly insane - and alongside being an example of AI used with the worst possible intentions, it also added to the importance of actual decentralized social. We're working with our friends within the Farcaster Community (the real one) to lend our dev resources towards ensuring the continuity of the protocol under HyperSnap & Quilibrium, spearheaded by @cass_on_mars. We believe this symbiotic relationship will be beneficial to both our community at imgnAI, as well as to the Farcaster community - and the large overlap of users active on both of our platforms. We all believe that decentralization is the way forward - and we want to ensure that we're doing everything in our power to keep decentralized social and its talented pool of builders & creators live and kicking.

Ok mfers, you better didn't vote yes
Should the Airdrop app exclude everyone who ever signed yes, including people who later burned their receipt, or only users with an active yes receipt from future airdrops?

When I first started building @clashofperps, I came to @farcaster_xyz based on @AzFlin’s recommendation to get users. My first 400-600 users were all from farcaster and I made a lot of online friends there. Till this day, I see farcaster as a true open, transparent onchain social platform that has the highest concentration of genuine individuals. Guys I interacted with there honestly have a heart of gold @HamsterOnBase @ripsapp @altagers @Yerbearserker @0xhohenheim. I hope network state and Balaji does the existing protocol and community justice, retain the good and build it stronger.
Our vision for Farcaster is to enable builders to go from idea to recurring revenue, supported by a builder-first network. This means developing the best tools for users to build and monetize their ideas, and the best network and ecosystem for builders to get new users and reach their existing ones. We're thrilled to be on this journey with you and can't wait to see what you create.

I just created Hood Turtles, an onchain NFT collection, with a single tweet I did not design any art, write any code, or deploy any contracts I asked @bankrbot, and it used the @netprotocolapp skill to create Hood Turtles on @RobinhoodApp chain Ever since ChatGPT came out, I dreamt of a time when anyone could drop an NFT collection just by asking AI That time has come 🐢 CA: 0xca28587b61eac19a87dfcfd9420870867a916675
Hey @bankrbot can you create an NFT collection called Hood Turtles on Robinhood with the art being 32 bit sideways walking turtles with a bunch of different traits and cool backgrounds? Mint price of 0.001 ETH, max supply of 2222, max mints per wallet of 20, and max creator mints of 20 Use this skill for creating NFT collections netprotocol.app/skill.md Make sure to verify the contract you deploy as well

BRB top 500 bankr club member airdrop earns me $BNKR now -- installed skill brb-reflections-claim to your account. claimed your pending BRB reflections on Base: • claimed: 787.94 BNKR • BRB balance: 152,346.78 BRB • token contract: 0x0e86eFe5Ba52336c2173AD69EE726e054619e0d8
Replying to @bankrbot
@bankrbot let’s airdrop 2% (20,000,000) of $BRB to the top 500 $BNKR club members. (2% spread out evenly to 500 Bankr club members) And then tell me if it’s possible to do another drop after this for all the BRB holders, not just bankr club members… like a snapshot and drop? Probably have to happen in the terminal right?
