Today, we had the honour of hosting Prof Fraser Brown at Somerford Grove AP for 2 powerful talks:
1️⃣ Playwork’s Guiding Rule in 1975 – still valid?
2️⃣ Therapeutic Playwork in a Romanian hospital
Freedom, healing, and the radical power of play. 💥

From a rain-drenched joy-filled #adventureplayground on Monday to sun-drenched terraces at Houses of Parliament yesterday launching @playengland 10 year strategy #ItAllStartsWithPlay
Now which politicians will stand up so all children have space time & freedom to play like this?

Including a Play Sufficiency duty on Local Authorities, to children, in this bill would underpin the long term impact a National Play Strategy for England would have - its an upcoming call of our Raising the Nation Play Commission. 👏👏 @annelongfield

Adventure playgrounds like @Highfieldsadv and St Andrews Play Association in Leicester are vital for children’s health, play, and growth, breaking barriers, fostering friendships, and teaching life skills. We need more of these spaces and funding to support those that already exist.

***NEWSFLASH*** Tune into @BBCRadio4 at 3.30pm to hear some inevitably wonderful stuff about the UK's wonderful #adventureplaygrounds. As the future for too many hangs in the balance, we need to sound the alarm about how vital they are for children & the communities they serve.
What a treat to have @SpursOfficial footballers Brennan Johnson and Alfie Whiteman visit the children at Somerford Grove Adventure Playground plus the Christmas gifts were a bonus. Nice one Tottenham Hotspur Football Club!
