SNP nationalism in a nutshell:
🇹🇷 Ferries built in Turkey.
🇵🇱 Ferries built in Poland.
🇨🇳 Schoolbags made in China.
🇮🇳 Benefits systems outsourced to an Indian-owned company.
The most bizarre “nationalists” on the planet.

The SNP can find £1.3 million a year for John Swinney’s school bag gimmick while teachers struggle to afford classroom basics.
Now the Conservatives have priced comparable bags and contents at less than half the £28 ministers plan to spend per child.
Ministers must publish the full cost breakdown and explain where the money is going.
Put the money into classrooms and let headteachers decide what their pupils need.

NHS Tayside's approach to patient records is an indictment of its governance, record-keeping and accountability. I know this first-hand.
At a meeting with @NHSTayside on 23 February 2026, Executive Medical Director Dr James Cotton offered to locate information from my original theatre records, including details that would have been recorded in the now-destroyed theatre logbooks.
I then heard nothing further from Dr Cotton or NHS Tayside. I chased this in July, followed by a further reminder in August. It wasn't until 24 September that I finally received a response from Dr Cotton.
And what did I receive? Three rows from a spreadsheet, supposedly representing the reconciliation of my three operations. Two were largely incomplete, containing only limited information about dates, named surgeons, anaesthetists and the type of procedure, with significant gaps in the remaining theatre information. The third included additional information, such as theatre timings, but offered no meaningful detail about the surgery itself and left fundamental questions unanswered.
This was presented as the outcome of a reconciliation audit. Hardly reassuring.
In his accompanying letter, Dr Cotton explicitly acknowledged that blank fields meant the relevant information had not been recorded in my surviving paper health records.
But there is an even more fundamental problem. How can NHS Tayside assume that information contained in surviving paper records is necessarily complete, accurate or truthful? Given the serious concerns surrounding Eljamel's alleged failure to document surgical errors, wrong-site operations and other surgical failings, what assurance is there that everything that actually happened was ever properly recorded?
Missing information is one problem. Inaccurate, incomplete or potentially misleading information is quite another!
In this clip from the Eljamel Inquiry, NHS Tayside’s CEO Nicky Connor discusses "notes reconciliation" following the destruction of approximately 40 theatre logbooks, despite a Do Not Destroy notice, that had been issued by Lord Weir, Chair of the Eljamel Inquiry.
Let's be absolutely clear: searching surviving paperwork and transferring whatever information can be found onto a spreadsheet is not the same as reconciling original theatre records.
You cannot recreate evidence that has been destroyed, establish the completeness or accuracy of surviving records, or account for information that was never recorded in the first place.
If this is what NHS Tayside considers an adequate reconciliation in an individual patient's case, why should anyone have confidence in its wider exercise?
Patient records are not disposable administrative paperwork. They are the evidence of what happened to us, the treatment we received and the decisions made about our care.
NHS Tayside had a fundamental responsibility to protect, preserve and account for that information. Patients have been failed in that duty.
Now, instead of meaningful answers and accountability, patients are being offered spreadsheets, blank fields and assurances about reconciliation, while being left to chase answers and question what has been lost - or what was never recorded in the first place.
You cannot reconstruct the truth from missing evidence. You cannot establish the accuracy of records simply by collating them. And you most certainly cannot spreadsheet your way out of institutional failure!

🔥 🔥 Nicky Connor, current CEO of @NHSTayside, talks about “notes reconciliation” following the destruction of an estimated 40 theatre logbooks.
Make it make sense!
We’re still waiting patiently for this reconciliation. How can there be reconciliation when potentially crucial evidence has been destroyed? 😳

Margaret Thatcher delivered more usable CalMac ferries in 11 years (1979–1990) than the SNP have managed in nearly 20 years of running Scotland.
Under Maggie the fleet got the Isle of Arran (1984), Hebridean Isles (1985), Loch Riddon, Loch Striven and Loch Linnhe (all 1986), Loch Ranza and Isle of Mull (1987), and Lord of the Isles (1989).
Several of those are still sailing today, decades later, while the SNP’s flagship effort is the Glen Sannox: seven years late, part of a project that has ballooned from £97 million to something approaching half a billion, and after just 22 months in service already spending more than a quarter of its life in dock with hull cracks, vibration problems, and an LNG system that leaked so badly it has been running on ordinary diesel ever since.
Maggie’s old boats are not only more numerous; they have proved more reliable and less polluting than the SNP’s brand-new “eco” showpiece.
The ferry shambles is the perfect metaphor for SNP governance itself: endless announcements, soaring costs, endless delays, and a final product that breaks down almost as soon as it is delivered.
Islanders are left stranded while ministers talk about “journeys” and “strategic” decisions that somehow never result in boats that actually turn up and stay afloat.
Devolution was supposed to deliver competent local control.
Instead we got the world’s most expensive floating symbol of nationalist incompetence.

NHS SPENT MILLIONS SILENCING SIX DOCTORS. EVERY SINGLE ONE WAS RIGHT
Private Eye @PrivateEyeNews called them the Super Sextet. Six doctors and executives who saw dangerous things happening in NHS hospitals, raised the alarm, and were systematically destroyed for it. Not one of them was wrong. Every single concern turned out to be valid.
Dr Kim Holt @drkimholt warned Great Ormond Street Hospital that the child protection clinic in Haringey was dangerously understaffed and missing patient records. Management put her on special leave for four years. Baby Peter Connelly died. The trust spent £286,000 on consultants to investigate itself and found no management failings. Then it offered Holt £120,000 to sign a super-gag and disappear. She refused.
Steve Bolsin, cardiac anaesthetist at Bristol Royal Infirmary, spent six years documenting that children were dying at an entirely avoidable rate during heart surgery. He raised it internally. He raised it with the Department of Health. He was told to keep his head down. Between 30 and 35 children died unnecessarily. Bolsin was described at a European surgeons conference as the most hated anaesthetist in Europe. He left the UK in 1995 and never came back.
Ash Pawade turned around a catastrophic children's heart surgery unit in Bristol. When a baby died after an overworked perfusionist made a drug error caused by NHS staffing cuts, Pawade backed his colleague and called management to account. He was ordered to apologise for impugning the trust's legal team. He left the NHS without any recognition.
Dr Raj Mattu, a world-renowned cardiologist in Coventry, watched a patient die because five beds had been crammed into a ward designed for four, leaving three beds with no access to oxygen or suction. He reported it. A senior manager responded by saying he wanted Mattu off the road completely. Mattu was suspended for six years, then sacked. The trust spent over £14 million of public money trying to discredit him. He was eventually awarded £1.22 million. The CEO who oversaw the campaign against him was given a CBE.
Gary Walker was brought in to turn around United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust after seven CEOs in six years. He balanced the books and hit the targets. When a winter surge led clinicians to warn that patient lives were at risk, Walker wrote to his Strategic Health Authority. The SHA's chief executive emailed back: you need to meet targets whatever the demand. Walker was sacked in 2010 for gross misconduct. The gross misconduct was using the f-word nine times in three meetings over two years, not directed at anyone in particular.
Dr Peter Wilmshurst, consultant cardiologist at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, spent 30 years reporting research fraud, confronting pharmaceutical companies, and taking on anyone who put profit above patient safety. He was sued for libel three times by a US medical device company after accurately reporting that their product did not work. The legal battle nearly cost him his home.
The same playbook runs across all of them: suspend the whistleblower, bury them in vexatious complaints, pay management consultants to clear management, offer a gag clause, and wait for the person to break.
@NHS spent millions silencing these six people. Not one manager faced meaningful consequences for any of it.

The scandal of Scotland's ghost workers marches on: rather than make staff redundant due to the SNP's policy, NHS Highland made one person write Christmas cards on full pay, it is claimed. "You'd have to kill someone to get sacked," admits one worker

This just gets worse and worse for the SNP. They need to get a grip and get real. This is taxpayers’ money. Time to get rid of the no compulsory redundancy policy.

A truly outstanding self-own from an SNP MSP.
You demand to know if “North Sea wealth should stay in Scotland”, yet your own government's GERS report proves every penny ALREADY DOES. It's entirely swallowed by Holyrood's spending, plus an extra £15bn UK transfer.
Embarrassing.

bless Jack - if he took the time to study and understand his own government’s GERS report, he’d know that all “North Sea wealth” (tax revenues) already stay in Scotland (spent in and for Scotland) … plus another £15bn more!

A spectacular delusion!
Claiming Glasgow outperforms the “Miracle of Manchester” ignores reality.
Greater Manchester has used devolved powers to become the UK's fastest-growing city-region, achieving an average annual economic growth rate of 3.1% since 2015, while Holyrood centralisation hollowed Glasgow out.
Vague “commitments” from Swinney don't equal GDP.

The SNP and The National are moaning that only £12m has been “handed over as grant funding”, deliberately ignoring that the remaining funding has NOT been cut, it was simply switched from a free grant to loans and equity investments!
The UK Government is still funding the project; they are just doing it in a way that protects the taxpayer rather than handing out a £200m blank cheque!
Even the Acorn project's own developers have publicly rejected the SNP's “betrayal” narrative, confirming their development program remains unchanged!
Manufacturing a completely fake grievance.

I miss having a president who didn’t talk like a toddler with a severe head injury.
Trump gets distracted by a helicopter mid-sentence:
"You know, I'm sitting I'm watching. They're good people. And-- Is that a helicopter? Oh yeah-- Ooooh! Do you want to see a nice helicopter? How do you like the helipad? See that's... that's landing right now. I'm gonna have a helicopter because of Halloween, we had to take a very long drive for the last 4 days, getting it ready, so now we have a helicopter."
