Just over a month ago you were singing a different tune when being graceful suited your goals.
An about-face so strong you’d give Janus a run for his money.
I remain concerned about transparency in #bcpoli. My ask of @Emily_Lowan: 1) You claim you're a renter - who are you paying rent to? Your parents? Or someone else? 2) You claimed to be a struggling Gen Xer...how much are the @BCGreens paying you to be leader... $120,000 or nothing? I never accepted a stipend and asked the party to give it to Adam Olsen instead. Answers to these questions are important. I'm sick of hypocrisy in #bcpoli and hope you can prove me wrong.

Even better would be striking a deal that preserves the meaningful differences here.
The BCNDP runs unopposed in every riding that they've held since 2017. The Greens run in every riding unopposed that they've held since 2017, unless it is currently occupied by the BCNDP.
Poll shows two-thirds of BC NDP voters support merging with BC Greens

Let me be clear: BC did not veer sharply right in this election. Doerkson carefully campaigned as a moderate, which was crucial to his success. Even so, the BC Conservatives still lost votes in absolute terms compared with 2024!
NDPers stayed home in droves—that's the story.

Maybe this is obvious but it just struck me as very funny that David Eby could have made a deal with the Greens to keep the Legislature for 2 more years instead of losing

just so everyone is clear: this is only the first conservative government in BC in 90+ years *in name only*. social credit and the BC liberals were conservatives and they governed for decades. there’s a reason christy clark and gordon campbell were campaigning for the cons.

massive failure of the ndp after moving right

they have to move even father right, even further accommodate racists, according to the province's most enlightened centrists.
The Conservatives didn’t win as much as the NDP lost. The Conservatives got 50,000 less votes than 2024. Both the Vancouver and provincial election show a rejection of neoliberalism and that people want bold system-change ideas, not milquetoast centrism.

The entire BC NDP shoulders the blame for this by totally ratfucking Anjali Appadurai by the way. Eby couldn't win on his own in the first place because his political instincts have been dog shit from day one and even casual observers could see this happening a mile out
Replying to @Cam_Oflage
A cynical, vain, uncharismatic technocrat who believed in nothing beyond poll-chasing &his own superior cleverness
No real political skill other than Littlefingering his way to the top of party's internal politics, eventually leaving it w barely any veteran hands OR rising stars

reminder that David Eby wasn’t elected by people into party leadership - he was essentially appointed into premiership when the BCNDP party brass blocked Anjali Appadurai because she got people excited - a major scandal - he became the leader by default without a vote, then this

My prediction for the coming five years:
- SOGI & DRIPA repealed
- strikes in multiple sectors
- pipelines built
- tunnel canceled & a bridge planned but not built for Massey, massive cost overruns AGAIN
- $10 daycare canceled
- ICBC privatized, rates soar

Watching hardcore BCNDP supporters blame everyone except the megalomaniac who did this is a trip.
Also its very important that everyone makes fun of David Eby relentlessly. Whenever you sit on your own balls, thats "pulling an Eby". Whenever you trip into a rube Goldberg machine and get dunked in manure, thats an "Eby Move"
