Let this incident serve as yet another reminder that those who engage in blatantly antisocial behavior in public settings arenāt merely displaying a lack of manners. Whether itās smoking or playing loud music, what theyāre doing is daring those around them to confront them. If passengers stay silent and avoid eye-contact, the antisocial thug gets to tell himself itās because heās such a badass. If someone does speak up, the antisocial ruffian gets to use that as an excuse to give in to his violent impulses.

I need leftists to understand that outside NYC, all the housing problems they assert as the default state of capitalism don't exist.
Most of the country doesn't have rent control, yet housing affordability is better. Austin saw nominal rent declines for multiple years during economic growth. Apartments aren't unmaintained for decades; you mainly ask your landlord to fix the dishwasher or in-unit laundry. There aren't wait lists or brokers, you just call the number on a listing, wire them some money, and move in immediately.
They even build new apartments all the time, anywhere it's legal, so much so that it's popular to complain online about being bored of the sight of the many similar apartment blocks investors are building all over the place. Renters complain about style fads, the proliferation of cheap luxury aesthetics, the unfashionable appliances.
The rental housing crisis only exists in a couple cities that have a multigenerational lock of leftist governance that are regulated like little historical preservation snowglobes where outsiders moving in are resented and you can't change or add anything to the built environment without multiple political approvals and interest group payoffs.

This is the insane thing about the āCornell 7ā
Imagine being one of three guys who didnāt even touch her and insane feminists are ruining your life two years later saying you gang raped her
Meanwhile in Europe, immigrants actually are systematically grooming, drugging, and gang raping teenage girls, and they will call you racist for bringing that up as an issue

Iāve held my tongue for a while, but being from Ithaca, a Cornell alum and a former criminal defense attorney, and seeing how out of hand this story has gotten, I am compelled to comment on the lawsuit alleging a gang rape at Cornell.
I cannot purport to know what happened one night at a frat house in October 2024āany more than you can. However, here are a few basic principles much of the public appears not to understand.
A lawsuit is a series of allegations made by the plaintiff. It is not proof. Allegations made in lawsuit turn out to be untrue all the time, either due to mistake, intentional misrepresentation, or flat-out lies. Unfortunately, people often misrepresent the truth in lawsuits due to monetary and other incentives. In the past, there have been instances of fabricated rape allegations. About a decade ago, Rolling Stone published a piece about an allegedly horrendous rape that occurred on the UVA campus that garnered similiar outrage to this incident and turned out to be entirely fabricated.
I have read the DAās press release and the lawsuit itself. According to the cited portions of Jane Doeās statements to police shortly after the incident, crediting it as entirely true, there was simply no basis to charge the alleged perpetrators. Everyone involved was apparently extremely intoxicated. Jane Doe gave consent to the encounter at the beginning and does not explicitly recall any activity occurring after consent was withdrawn. It is possible that, due to her inability to recall, she had not given consent for some of the activity towards the end, but possible is not a basis for a district attorney to file criminal charges.
Her current lawsuit is fairly consistent with her initial statementāexcept it omits the portions where she told the police she gave consent. Is she lying? Did she later remember something she didnāt initially? Is she mistaken? I do not knowāand again, neither do you.
What I do know is that if we are to live in a society of laws, going after the jobs and reputations young men who may have participated in an entirely consensual incident, and the DA who made the correct decision not to charge, is mindless mob justice. We actually want prosecutors to decline to seek indictments when thereās insufficient evidence of criminal wrongdoing.
None of this is to say I approve of what happened as reported in the initial statement to police. Thatās a cultural and parenting issue, though, not a matter for law enforcement. I encourage people to let the DAās office handle the case going forward, and not to participate in the witch hunt against either the prosecutors involved or the young men who, as of now, have not been charged or shown to have committed any crime.

Everyone I know already knows this, but it bears repeating.
Leftists are midwits, with very few exceptions. If you've had any real interaction with them you'll already be painfully aware, though maybe didn't quite know why.
Peter Turchin blames much of the rise of DSA types on "elite overproduction", or colleges creating people who think they deserve status (and money), but who don't actually offer much to society. They think their diploma is proof of intelligence which should equal societal prestige.
Let's not even wade into the replication crisis in science or the lowering of standards across academia (many college freshman can't even read properly).
This is an issue of credentialism. The very same problem we run into with Indian diploma mills. They think, "because I have this piece of paper, that proves I have the expertise and am then owed something". It doesn't matter to them that they have no skills, getting the diploma (by any means) was the skill.
These people also have zero theory of mind, not only for those who have differing opinions from the ones installed in them at university, but also for themselves. They are blind to their own motivations. The leftist thinks he is good because he repeats "good guy" phrases. Meaning or understanding them isn't required.
This is why they flock to socialism. They have degrees in second-rate majors, often taught by mediocre professors, and feel certain this confers to them a right to lead society. Never mind that they aren't capable of the "labor" they demand to keep the value of. Thus they prove to be downwardly mobile, and they hate society for it.
Rather than internalize this failure and forge ahead they blame "the system" or "capitalism" for the status they feel they've been robbed of. They would rather rule over ashes than be the store clerk they should have been all along. They set to work to destroy the system they feel betrayed by. This is why they are so hateful and envious.
If they had never gone to college and gotten a pat on the head and told they were special, they would have been forced into realistic expectations of themselves.
Instead we collectively deal with the pained screeching entitlement of people whose niche in society should have always been a grocery store manager or barista. AOC should have remained a waitress, as many have pointed out.
The encouraging piece, as is always the case, is that our enemies are truly unimpressive people. They rely on our adherence to the ever-degenerating rule of law and our good nature (which is fatiguing).
The moment we decide to simply stop tolerating them their function and influence will disappear to history. But first, most of the colleges must be turned into rubble.

This is important. The far left in this country is mostly made up of people who spent a ton on their degrees and canāt make back what they spent. As a result, they hate capitalism.
