Autistic people are cooked in modern times, by being infinitely "accepting" no one knows how to act. Manners and social norms used to help with this. The idea that there was a "normal" that could be emulated and even aspired to, was a Godsend to the awkward and strange.

true, different religions at different times in one's life. but it is hardly my opinion alone that Buddhism--as a philosophy, rather than a religion--is indeed wise, "mature" in a way that other religions that are more messianic, zealous for converts, & intolerant of one another, are not. what have I said here do you find "not useful"--?

Idk if I told you guys bc I rarely talk about anything pertaining to The Job, but the DOW assembly was wonderful. Genuinely helpful, and my impression was that the culture is functional and healthy. Saw a lot of people from seminary too :) And had liturgy of some kind daily ❤️

I was able to go to a bunch of talks and even a clergy wife thing 🥰 and also was able to take it easy while Fr learned and met more of his guys. It was educational and nourishing. Yay
