This video was made using visual effects. Peg boards cannot sort marbles by color, and similar videos have been circulating for years. This video explains how one was created:

IKKα ablation in human lung adenocarcinoma cells reduced their anchorage-independent growth in soft agar. Mice challenged with IKKα-ablated HCC827 cells exhibited less lung tumor growth than mice orthotopically administered control HCC827 cells.
Inexpensive fluorescence imaging of #zebrafish for classroom and science outreach settings.
Final version of our glowscope project is now out at go.nature.com/3mD7j4S
The paper adds inexpensive fluorescence capability to the wonderful smartphone scopes that @ScopesWorkshop developed and tirelessly brings into classrooms and science outreach settings.
Accepted for publication today! More soon! Excellent work, team!
Our newest preprint is out! We found that IKKalpha directly phosphorylates DARPP-32 to inhibit protein phosphatase 1 (PP1) leading to activation of ERK signaling in #lungcancer.

Things I didn’t know before I was diagnosed w Stage IV #lungcancer in Nov 2022
1. For many (like me) 1st symptom was persistent cough. When that’s case, initial tumor has likely spread.
2. To qualify for CT lung cancer screening, you had to smoke a pack a day for 20 yrs.
Currently looking to hire a postdoc. Please reach out &/or apply.
We use cellular function studies, biochemistry, molecular assays, mouse & zebrafish models, & human specimens to study the molecular basis of human disease including cancer, cardiovascular disease, & lung injury.
