Britain has a new drone wingman, and it has a rather imposing name: Brontanax, or Thunder King. Unveiled by BAE Systems at Farnborough on July 22, it's the UK's first uncrewed autonomous collaborative combat aircraft. About the size of a Hawk trainer, it features a low-observable delta wing design and was built totally in secret at Warton in Lancashire. BAE funded the prototype itself, betting the RAF would want it. 1/3

UK military satellite Titania has successfully launched into orbit. Alongside Project Inaros, we can see threats sooner, making the UK safer. Titania & Inaros are British-built and designed, meaning more highly skilled jobs, a stronger industrial base and a more secure UK.

We should build a socialist town in England, let the socialists go and run it their way - there rules, taxes etc… We should film it, allow people to see what happens. After 1 year those who want to join it can. Those who want to leave can leave, have a shower and a warm meal.

Is this a joke? The EU wants the UK to put tariffs on Chinese EVs and Steel in the Reset agreement using WTO GATT rules, but it also wants the UK to dynamically align with its's SPS rules which are against the WTO's CODEX rules. Talk about cherry-picking! catherinemcbride.substack.co…
No cherry-picking. No special treatment. The door is open. This time, it’s meant for coming in, not walking out. There is so much to do together to face global challenges🇪🇺🇬🇧 #Brexit

The UK is supposed to have lost 6-8% of GDP by leaving the EU, but given the UK runs an £88B deficit with the EU, where is that growth supposed to have come from? By us buying even more from them? Meanwhile, the UK enjoys a £70B trade surplus with non-EU countries, which we're willing to threaten by rejoining the EU. Surely this is where we should be concentrating our efforts.

High-income workers are fleeing Europe. Economic theory tells us that the more mobile a factor of production becomes, the lower its optimal tax rate. This is why taxes on capital, which is relatively mobile, tend to be lower than taxes on labor, which historically has been less mobile. However, as the chart below shows, as elite human capital has become more footloose, high taxes have become increasingly counterproductive. This is a huge existential problem for European welfare states, which have traditionally relied on heavily taxing their most productive workers.

🚨 BREAKING NEWS! The engineer who created Claude Code from scratch just posted a 28-minute video that's pure gold: how to write prompts that actually deliver ridiculously good results. I've seen $300 courses that don't even come close to what he explains in the first 10 minutes. CLAUDE.md files, memory shortcuts, parallel sessions, and prompting patterns that almost no one uses… All in one video. Completely free. No fluff. Whether you're a developer, just starting out now, or already using Claude for months: this changes the game for you starting today. Save. Watch. Share.

By moving away from regulatory autonomy over plant and soil safety to match the EU rulebook. Permission will be revoked for 14 specific pesticides and fungicides that Britain approved for use during wet weather but which the EU had explicitly banned. So much for UK Farmers :-(

Britain needs to legalise prediction markets. Why we forbid some of the greatest information discovery machines on the planet from working in the United Kingdom is utterly beyond me.
BREAKING: Polymarket was right. 98.4% of resolved midterm races went to the Polymarket favorite the day before Election Day. 419 of 426.

Important point 👇 These midterms were a rebuke of state overreach which started nearly a year before the president went to war with Iran. That war was likely the final straw for a lot of voters, who were already unhappy that the government was deliberately making goods pricer.
The President's net approval on inflation/prices had plunged to Bidenesque levels BEFORE Iran. The war then caused a further cratering to unprecedented low territory. It's not 2025 policies OR Iran that got Republicans here. It's clearly both.
