The absurdly slow process of replacing the ageing THETIS class Arctic patrol vessels is getting closer to selection. Two proposals are in play: Danske Flådeskibe and the new proposal from Orlogsskibe Danmark (below). Both with first delivery 2030 if the decided this year.

#OTD 24 October 1808 the Danish fortress at Christiansø island in the Baltic under the commandant Johan Henrik August von Kohl, beats off an attack by a Royal Navy squadron of 2 ships- of-line and 6 frigates.

According to Danish media the first two long range strike missile acquisitions will be made public today. It will be the anticipated Kongsberg Joint Strike Missile (JSM) for F-35 (500 km) and reportedly - and more surprisingly - the Covenant Anthem missile (1,500 km).

According to the daily Berlingske the Danish Government is about to close the selection of long-range strike capability announced in September 2025. The capability package may likely include JSM (500km) and TLAM (1,600+km) as well as JASSM-ER (900km) & long range drones (500km+)
