Back at City Hall in DTLA for day four of the anti deportation protests. The crowds in the hundreds right now listening to speakers. Not sure if they’re marching tonight or not.
The protesters went back to city, they had a dance party for awhile before the LAPD came in and told them to clear the streets. Now the cops are at both ends of the street in a vague stare down with the remaining protesters.
n the scene now with the anti deportation protests happening now at Aliso/main in DTLA. There’s prolly 1-2 thousand out blocking traffic while LAPD in riot gear wait near by.
Protesters moved again to where a group of about a 100 protesters were kettled by the LAPD. Lots of chants of “let them go!” Right now. Not too many left not detained but the protesters don’t wanna call it quits yet.
The LAPD is starting to get mad it seems, the crowd I’m following now is just a street party after the LAPD got scared off by the crowd.

When Adas Torah Synagogue in Pico-Robertson was set to host an event that advertised itself as selling property in Israel — including potentially some in illegal settlements in Palestinian territories — dozens showed up to protest.

LA is really trying to “clean up” like NYC did in the late 90s/early 00s after 9/11. The Olympics is on its way here, that might seem a long ways off but the city is only going to ramp up its efforts to make LA look clean and serene. No matter how many people it has to brutalize to make that a reality.
Sometime tomorrow the city of LA is going to be conducting a sweep of one of the largest homeless communities in West Los Angeles near Olympic and Cotner right by the LADWP facility
