The paper trail shows a multi-year volume commitment that grows while the government stays silent on forced-labour risk in the supply chain. The same memo asks whether those vehicles will even be listed as banned if the forced-labour link is conceded. No answer. No debate. No kitchen-table numbers. This is the pattern. IRCC’s own New Delhi manual treated massive agent fraud in student and trucking streams as “anticipated” since 2017 and stamped the evidence “DO NOT DISCLOSE.” Non-permanent residents still sit at 2.78 million. Youth unemployment is in double digits. Food-bank visits hit records. The Auditor General keeps documenting the same enforcement gaps. You revise the population counts upward after the fact and call it control. On the EV side the same script runs. Billions in public money for battery plants that are bankrupt, delayed or suspended. Another $2.5 billion announced for “the connected and electric vehicles of the future.” Now a growing Chinese import quota at 6.1 % while Canadian auto capacity is left to compete against state-backed volume. No clear industrial plan. No exit ramp. No explanation of when the “new path” stops expanding. My nine grandchildren will inherit the housing costs, the weaker labour market, the higher energy prices, and the trade commitments signed while Parliament is sidelined. They will also inherit the trust deficit created by governments that document problems, hide the files, and keep expanding the same model. Stop the slogans. Publish the five-year cumulative volumes, the forced-labour assessment, and the measurable outcomes for Canadian workers and households. Kitchen table first. Canadians first.
