Спикер Лок сабха (нижней палаты парламента Индии) Шри Ом Бирла провёл тёплую и плодотворную встречу с Его Превосходительством господином Вячеславом Володиным, Председателем Государственной Думы Федерального Собрания Российской Федерации, накануне 12-го Парламентского форума БРИКС 2026 года.
На встрече были подтверждены неизменные узы дружбы, взаимного доверия и понимания между Индией и Россией. В связи с тем, что в этом году две страны отмечают 80-летие дипломатических отношений, обе стороны вновь заявили о своей приверженности дальнейшему укреплению особо привилегированного стратегического партнёрства между Индией и Россией, основанного на взаимном уважении, доверии и общих устремлениях.
В ходе переговоров основное внимание было уделено расширению парламентского сотрудничества на основе постоянного институционального взаимодействия между Лок сабха и Государственной Думой, регулярного обмена парламентскими делегациями, а также более активного взаимодействия между молодыми парламентариями и женщинами-парламентариями. Шри Ом Бирла также рассказал об инициативах Индии по использованию технологий, в том числе платформы «Сансад Бхашини», для того чтобы сделать работу парламента более доступной, инклюзивной и ориентированной на граждан.
Двое руководителей обменялись мнениями об укреплении сотрудничества между парламентами стран БРИКС, о борьбе с терроризмом на основе согласованных международных усилий, а также о продвижении реформы Совета Безопасности Организации Объединённых Наций. Шри Ом Бирла выразил признательность за неизменную поддержку Россией постоянного членства Индии в Совете Безопасности.
Ожидается, что более тесное парламентское взаимодействие придаст новый импульс этому проверенному временем партнёрству и ещё больше укрепит глубокую дружбу и тесные связи между Индией и Россией.

The meeting reaffirmed the enduring bonds of friendship, mutual trust and understanding between India and Russia. As the two nations mark 80 years of diplomatic relations, both sides reiterated their commitment to further strengthening the India–Russia Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership, rooted in mutual respect, trust and shared aspirations.
Discussions focused on expanding parliamentary cooperation through sustained institutional engagement between the Lok Sabha and the State Duma, regular exchanges of parliamentary delegations, and greater interaction among young and women parliamentarians. Shri Om Birla also highlighted India’s initiatives to leverage technology, including Sansad Bhashini, to make parliamentary proceedings more accessible, inclusive and citizen-centric.
The two leaders exchanged views on strengthening cooperation among BRICS Parliaments, combating terrorism through concerted international efforts, and advancing reforms of the United Nations Security Council. Shri Om Birla conveyed his appreciation for Russia’s continued support for India’s permanent membership of the Council.
Stronger parliamentary engagement is expected to impart fresh momentum to this time-tested partnership, further reinforcing the deep-rooted friendship and close ties between India and Russia.
