The Houthis recently struck a training camp of government-aligned forces causing hundreds of casualties. Mr. Grim is probably ignorant that this attack is what prompted the threats to respond in kind. FYI, the Houthi 'tribal mobilizations' being threatened here look like this.
Whoa, Saudi-backed forces in Yemen say they will now consider any public gathering a legitimate target.

Weren't there rumors that Iran could try something themselves; it wouldn't surprise me if intelligence detecting Iran moving around launchers or other offensive assets could change the calculus about future attack plans.

Prediction markets and online sports gambling should all be outlawed. They just enable corruption by insiders and exploitation of people susceptible to gambling addiction.
SCOOP: Kalshi has launched an investigation into a series of suspicious trades on their platform on President Trump's selection of Katie Zacharia to be his next White House press secretary. Zacharia was at about a 1% odds favorite to becoming press secretary prior to today's developments but at least three traders placed "yes" bets on her getting the job prior to any news of Trump selecting her. There are a bunch of terrible click bait alarmist accounts who didn’t retweet but paraphrased as a quote to sound more definitive for clicks.
As I said last night, was told that the POTUS meeting at Camp David was to deliberate and review Yemen strike options. Today, U.S. embassies in Middle Eastern countries that are likely to be targets of retaliatory strikes issued warnings. Now POTUS head to the White House early.

There are so many of these slop accounts that people constantly retweet because they are bored and want to believe whatever sensational stuff is being repeated everywhere without any real sources.
All of these massive accounts just tweeting horseshit. CNN never reported this.

If Argentina were actually serious about this (which they aren't), they'd be massively investing in OWA drones. Milei is happy to do some diplomatic shitposting about the Falklands, but that is far removed from actually attacking British territory and killing people.
Unless I missed something, there are no physical means by which Argentina can take the Falklands by force. Like go check Wikipedia, as bad as you think it is, I guarantee you it’s worse.

A similar kind of attack was attempted in the United States by a drone carrying wires in 2020. Using the law enforcement slides released about it, I geolocated the attack to a substation in Pennsylvania at the time. The perpetrators of that attempted attack were never caught.
The homemade rockets used in the Brandenburg attack were equipped with copper wires designed to entangle in overhead lines and cause a short circuit, and were to be detonated via analog timers, according to confidential operation reports obtained by WELT.

Using some OSINT tools I found the site of the unidentified electrical substation which was targeted in a first of its kind attack on the US power grid by a drone last year. @PierreTABC broke the story yesterday by revealing an internal intelligence bulletin describing the attack

BREAKING: US President Donald Trump announces “economic warfare” against Iran, warns that any country, financial institution or business providing Tehran with a lifeline would face severe U.S. economic consequences.

The withdrawal of US forces from the Gulf and collapse of the security umbrella they provided is going to cause the Gulf states to scramble for a replacement deterrent. They will likely explore or pursue nuclear weapons development to fill the security void vs Iranian aggression.
The Pentagon is evaluating whether to reduce its military presence in the Middle East after the Iran war, with one key area being a potential pullback from the Persian Gulf, where bases have been battered by strikes, according to The Washington Post.

The Iranians are not stupid. An unending blockade of their ports in the Gulf is an open-ended invitation for them to figure out tactics to make these deployments more painful and logistics more dangerous for the US Navy, which has to enforce it.

The Navy will get around to doing this right about the same time they launch the Trump-class battleships, which will be never. Could possibly fuck up the delivery schedule of the 3rd Ford-class carrier, the USS Enterprise, though I doubt it.
President Trump has directed the U.S. Navy to remove a complex system for launching fighter jets from its aircraft carriers and instead go back to using steam catapults, according to the WSJ.

When the forward-deployed carrier in the Pacific has to go to the Middle East, it's usually because of a contingency, not a scheduled deployment. My entire time out there, I never left PACOM's AOR, but the US is focused on CENTCOM again like it's the early 2000s.
The U.S. Navy is deploying the USS George Washington to the Middle East to relieve the USS Abraham Lincoln in a scheduled rotation, according to the WSJ. The USS Lincoln has been deployed for over 250 days and was redirected to the Middle East in January

Presidential motorcades use decoys every time the President travels via automobile, but ok.
Ridiculous. This is THE first time that reporters, Secret Service, and White House staff were used as decoys to take the hit in case of an attack. Reporters on the Pakistan trip were told what was going on and flew with WH staff aboard a C-17.

Likely on board this Gulfstream charter flight (N5616), which flew out of DC yesterday and landed in Moscow earlier today before quickly departing. The interiors also match.

Recent ACARS message from N5616 shows the aircraft's next destination is Dulles in DC. Including the evidence in my post above, I'm pretty confident this is the aircraft carrying former US Marine Robert Gilman back to the states after his release from detention in Russia.

If the NYT story about the Qatari AF1 aircraft resulted in the DoJ trying to subpoena all the journalists involved (unsuccessfully), this one from the WaPo, that details far more sensitive info about presidential security, is going to have the same folks at the DoJ going nuclear.

This guy had 25 years of American military history and experience waging war in the Middle East to draw on, and the most sophisticated intelligence gathering operation in modern history, and managed to achieve a disastrous strategic defeat in mere months.
New: In recent weeks, Gen. Dan Caine has privately discussed the prospect of finding "an off-ramp" from the war with Iran w/ other key Trump officials — acknowledging military options on the table to escalate carry various potential risks & airpower alone is unlikely to achieve POTUS' stated objectives, sources tell me. “Caine is looking for an off ramp,” one of the sources said bluntly. Deeper dive on Trump's top general ... 6 months into the Iran war. cnn.com/2026/08/07/politics/…
