To be clear: Some facts are neither in dispute nor unclear. Our photographer was clearly marked as Press. She was clearly beaten. These are not partisan or risible statements, but indisputable. We urge a thorough investigation and accountability.
The Prime Minister’s Office:
The facts surrounding the confrontation near Abu Falah, during which Washington Post photojournalist Heidi Levine was allegedly assaulted, remain unclear and are under investigation.
Israel unequivocally condemns violence against anyone—Jews, Arabs, Christians or journalists. Those responsible will be held accountable.
But serious questions remain. Reports indicate some 200 Arabs and far-left activists confronted approximately 40 Israeli youths. Footage shows masked individuals on both sides hurling objects, amid reports of fireworks fired at Jewish youths. Other footage appears to show Levine knocked down and immediately helped to her feet by the same unidentified individual.
The investigation must establish the facts, including who initiated the violence.
We will not allow disputed incidents to be exploited to demonize the hundreds of thousands of law-abiding Jewish residents of Judea and Samaria.
The facts must determine the conclusions. Not the headlines.

🧵.@texastribune identified the ICE shooter in a Houston man's death: Not a decision we came to lightly.
His family told us they've been "putting our lives at risk while ICE has hidden the killer & tried to drag our father’s good name through the mud.”

ICE is raiding meatpacking plants in Texas, Kansas, and Oklahoma, leading to this remarkable statement below noting that "these types of disruptions will lead to higher beef prices for consumers" and highlighting disruptions to the entire meat supply chain.
A joint statement from Texas Cattle Feeders Association, Kansas Livestock Association and Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association regarding the ongoing ICE operations in Texas, Oklahoma and Kansas:
“The Kansas Livestock Association, Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association and Texas Cattle Feeders Association are closely monitoring reported U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activity affecting agricultural communities in Oklahoma, Kansas, and Texas.
Our organizations respect the responsibility of federal agencies to enforce the law. At the same time, cattle producers, feedyards, dairies, livestock markets, processors, and other rural businesses depend on a stable workforce to care for animals, protect food safety, and keep the supply chains operating. Sudden workforce disruptions can create immediate animal-welfare, operational, and economic consequences that extend well beyond an individual business. These ICE operations are having a massive chilling effect on the legal, documented, skilled workers that put beef on the table and keep the cattle supply chain moving. Additionally, these types of disruptions will lead to higher beef prices for consumers.
Reported impacts to our organizations throughout the past few days have been:
- Thousands of fed cattle slated for shipping to processors now delayed, resulting in millions of dollars in lost revenue and additional costs.
- Workforce disruptions at numerous supply chain chokepoints such as feedyards, dairies, processors, feed and grain companies, transportation hubs, and community services.
These disruptions come at a time of enhanced focus and pressure on the cattle and beef supply chain. They are a costly and unnecessary impact to cattle producers already suffering from unwelcome political interference to both the markets as well as the physical supply chain. Frustratingly, the harm these actions cause to cattle producers last for days and weeks after such operations conclude.
We urge federal officials to conduct enforcement actions in a lawful, orderly, and transparent manner; respect due process; and communicate clearly with affected employers and communities.”

No matter what you think about ICE, this is sad. The story suggests ICE shouldn’t have hired him in the first place (he seems to have had serious impulse control issues) and wouldn’t have if they had done background checks *before* giving him a badge and a gun. Now a man is dead.
ICE is quietly firing new hires. For one recruit, it was devastating.

UPDATE: A prosecutor won't bring charges against the woman who made the false Buttigieg allegation, saying she's unable to form criminal intent.
She has a history of mental illness, alcohol abuse & delusions — including "self-identifying as God."
"Obviously she may still have the ability to file additional complaints," the prosecutor wrote to state police. "No doubt a regrettable situation."
Scoop: The false allegation that led
Buttigieg to be separated from his kids last month came from someone police later deemed possibly “mentally unstable,” per records.
Michigan police waited six days after approaching Buttigieg to attempt to identify the accuser. When we contacted her, she couldn’t answer basic questions about her claims.
Child welfare experts said this case shows a flawed process that was made worse by poor judgment & communication among investigators from two states. “It should scare all of us,” one said.
Michigan AG now investigating how this was handled.
Lots of new details in this story with w @ErinatThePost and Aaron. Hope you’ll read.
