for a long time i said that antisemitism, particularly on the american left, was not as bad as people claimed.
i'd like to just state that i was totally wrong.
i still don't understand it, really. or know what to do about it.
but it is so fucked.
Dirty smear politics is alive and well in SF, and it's high time we made sure the playbook backfires from here
A few dishonest groups invent a smear and the local legacy media rubber stamps it out of abdication of duty to the people
We demand consequences for the lies now
Manny and Shahid. Both were accused during political campaigns by common members of three groups: The Harvey Milk LGBTQ Democratic Club, the SFBerniecrats, and the San Francisco Democratic Socialists. Dean Preston and Jackie Fielder participated in Buttar’s smear despite Buttar being a fellow Democratic Socialist and rising star on the national political stage.
Fielder and Preston along with the rest of DSASF signed a document rescinding their support of Pelosi rival @ShahidForChange despite admitting the sexual assault claims had been “debunked.” This was a smear job, and so is what they’re doing to Manny. Part 1 — the case for Manny ⬇️

When headlines lie by omission, it says a lot about the headline writers in a news room
The @sfchronicle chose this headline for a piece *exonerating* Manny?!
1)SFPD tabled its investigation, which means they couldn’t find evidence it occurred. 2)The kraykray accuser — not Manny — sent Manny flirty stuff *after* the supposed assault. 3)His story changes under oath.

What a rotten deal we made with Iran. We get nothing (except laughter at our stupidity). They get everything, including delay and big cash!

Today, we dropped the price of enterprise AI by 80%.
Same frontier AI. Same chat, cowork, and code experience.
Just 5x more tokens for the same spend.
Here’s how and why. 👇 Also, we made a video. Please enjoy.
the same people who cheered when a guy was shot for exercising his 1st amendments rights peacefully
are the same people who mourn a guy who oppressed 90 million for 40 years, rolled back the rights of women while murdering 1000s of his own people
never has there been a better example of the difference between the perception of goodness vs reality of it

I think the purest form of love is just wanting someone to notice life with you. "taste this. look at that. hear this song." again and again. until you can't imagine noticing life without them

This is a good way to visualize the projected fiscal impact of the Big Beautiful Bill.
It adds about a million dollars of extra spending per minute above the pre-BBB baseline.

1/ This graph from @JonBruner tells an important story: America's current dominance in science only began after the mid-1930s, when persecuted scientists began fleeing universities in Germany and then elsewhere in occupied Europe.

OK. Here's the issue.
There is a strong argument that Ukraine is THE climactic battle of the Thucydides Trap.
That is: the big war between the US and China is actually between their proxies Ukraine and Russia.
And this settlement — to this war — determines the next world order.
Because there won’t be a fight in Taiwan if NATO is defeated in Ukraine. Taiwan will just surrender to China because they know they won't get reliable Western military support.
And so will everyone else.
So, this may be the decisive moment when terms get negotiated with the China/Russia group for the next however many years.
That means that even if you think Ukraine was a disaster and Zelensky is a dummy, you don’t want NATO to be catastrophically defeated in Kiev like it was in Afghanistan.
That would be bad for Democrats, Republicans, Europeans, Japanese — just about everyone under the US security umbrella.
Instead you want the best possible outcome to this terrible war, under the circumstances.
Because the West may already have fallen into the Thucydides Trap. And if so, it should very carefully think about whether it can get out.

I love my country with all my heart and I've never been more embarrassed for America than the spectacle I just witnessed in the Oval Office.
Zelensky is fighting for the survival of his country, his people and their democracy.
Trump and Vance appear to be completely aligned with Putin, the invader whose aim has been to conquer Ukraine.
Zelensky should know that millions and millions of Americans still stand with him and his valiant people.

Bannon: "The number one enemy to the people of Israel are American Jews who... do not support MAGA."
First Bannon does Hitler salute on CPAC.
Now he's making threats against American Jews who do not tow the party line.
Wake up, America.

As many inexplicably seem to be throwing President @ZelenskyyUa to the wolves, I stand with him. He’s been an astoundingly courageous and inspiring leader in horrendous circumstances, and deserves so much better than the way he is currently being treated/smeared.

It comes down to this: do you want America to WIN or do you want America to LOSE.
If you force the world’s best talent to play for the other side, America will LOSE.
End of story.
