JUST IN: Elon Musk unveils the Tesla Roadster by launching it off a ramp before the car flipped in midair and safely landed on the ground. The car is a collaboration between Tesla and SpaceX. One of the most insane things I've ever seen.

Hadrian x Lockheed x DoW 🇺🇸 Rebuilding America’s defense industrial base requires more than expanding capacity. It requires reinventing how we manufacture. @HadrianInc is bringing its technology directly onto @LockheedMartin’s factory floor to scale production of our nation’s most critical missile systems. This is how we rebuild the Arsenal of Freedom. @SecWar @USDASDuffey @DeptofWar
We’re expanding our partnership with @LockheedMartin. Under a new seven-year agreement, we’ll bring Hadrian’s advanced manufacturing capabilities directly into Lockheed Martin’s Grand Prairie facility to help scale production across critical missile programs. 🇺🇸

Chuck Schumer dropping 86K at Franklin Hall is really something
New — Republicans and Democrats are divided over almost everything in Washington. Apparently that includes where to eat. @washingtonsun analyzed 1.6M+ FEC operating-expenditure records and found campaigns spent more than $9M at 829 D.C.-area restaurants this cycle. Republicans’ top spot: The Capital Grille, where GOP campaigns spent more than $500k. / Democrats’ favorite: Paraiso, followed by Osteria Morini, AMA and L’Ardente. There was a big divide in how much the parties spent: Republican campaigns dropped about $5M at restaurants compared with $3.9M for Democrats — despite almost the exact same number of campaigns in the analysis. Steve Scalise was the biggest spender of all, with nearly $517k across 79 restaurants, including almost $117k at Ocean Prime. Hakeem Jeffries led Democrats with more than $160k across 31 restaurants, including nearly $45k at Osteria Morini. More on what Washington run: Politics and food washingtonsun.com/campaigns/…

🚨 @Budowich absolutely nails the data center debate: “Not a single shovel should go in the ground, not a slab of concrete should be laid if a data center is draining a community.” “Data centers and this investment should be POWERING our communities.” And increasingly, they’re doing exactly that. They’re building their own power sources, using closed-loop cooling systems, and delivering immense financial benefits for surrounding communities: $50,000 teacher bonuses in Louisiana. A new hospital, school and library in Quincy, WA.

In under an hour, Varda will be launching W-8 and W-9 on the same rocket This is a huge milestone for us. We're transitioning from single vehicle to a fleet mentality. This is what allows us to scale our pharma manufacturing, gotta be able to operate multiple space factories!!

Chief Design Officer @jgebbia previews America.gov, which is being unveiled tomorrow: "It's more of a conversation that you start with the government to try and get access to the answers that you need, where the search cuts across multiple agencies and packages an answer that's just for you, gives you clear next steps — and it's only from official sources."

More capable models will introduce increased biological risk. The magnitude is fiercely debated, the direction is not. We need more resilient biodefense.

"Our federal government is not doing its job. It does not help us build great things. It does not solve hard problems. Frankly, it has abandoned its post." Anduril co-founder @traestephens: "Immigration. 70-80% of Americans support comprehensive reform, yet the last time we passed anything into law was 40 years ago.”

“Healthcare. We spend roughly double compared to advanced democracies and see profoundly worse outcomes.”

“Education. The United States has fallen out of the top 10 in educational attainment." "How about the basic responsibility of using taxpayer money to build real things? Between CHIPS and the green energy law, we've allocated $1 trillion plus on major infrastructure. All we have to show for it so far is a handful of lousy EV charging stations and not a single fully built CHIPS fab. We haven't even sent a man to the moon in my lifetime." "'It's too hard' or 'someone else is going to do this' aren't excuses that cut it anymore in the 21st century. You might as well sign the deed for the American experiment over to the Chinese Communist Party." The Hill & Valley Forum 2026 @HillValleyForum @anduriltech

The world is going to be alright, guys. Keep having kids, loving your family, and starting and building businesses and institutions. Don’t live in fear. Leaders have big responsibilities and challenges ahead, but it doesn’t help to scare everyone. We are on top of it.

BREAKING: The Department of War is deploying approximately 50 mobile SCIFs across the U.S., secure facilities critical for classified defense work. The program gives startups and smaller defense suppliers access to SCIFs without requiring them to build out their own secure infrastructure. Long term, the Department plans to scale production of these mobile facilities into a nationwide, surge-capable network of secure workspaces.

“The future belongs to builders.” Spent the morning at the launch of Foundry School - a @StateDept and @UnderSecE led initiative to develop a curriculum where students learn the craft of manufacturing and building from the people who do it at the highest level. A privilege to also hear from @JDVance and @SecRubio, whose remarks made clear how central this effort is to the administration’s agenda. What makes America great is our innovation ecosystem - our ability to attract and cultivate founders who build incredible companies. Yet somewhere along the way we stopped making things ourselves. We bet that global trade would turn the rest of the world into free-market democracies just like us - and lost that capacity in the process. The history of humanity is largely defined by the tools we make and how we train others to use them. Increasingly, young Americans are asking if the college degree is even worth it? Foundry School’s answer: working with your hands is very much working in the future. Congrats to @jacobhelberg and the @StateDept team.

"It's almost like the designers were paid based on how many times you had to re-enter the same information." @as400495 on the moment he decided to work on government software: "I used the Social Security dashboard. Took me forever to go through the identity proofing. And then when I tried to request a replacement card, there was like 15 steps of things that I had just entered in the identity proofing step." "The negative is what exists now. But the positive is these incredible people, they want to come in, they want to solve this." "The scale is going to be huge. It's very rare that you have a problem where you have so many people that you can reach, and for each and every one of those people, you can have a profound difference. Those two things together make it a very alluring problem for engineers to work on." The Hill & Valley Forum 2026 @HillValleyForum @zoink
