JP-Palmer only works when there’s space between opposition defensive lines like Fulham or even Brighton. Pedro just isn’t a top-tier minimalist yet and doesn’t have that extra stride in behind for Palmer to have more time on the ball like he had with Jackson.
This is why I say football is cyclical because clubs such as Manchester United and Chelsea are stuck with Bruno and Palmer, as obvious examples of players that won’t me moved on since the club has branded them as the poster boys, handicapping them from their true potential.
He’s not clinical, he’s not potent, he disappears in big games, he disappears in all games that eliminate space for him, he needs a trillion touches to develop rhythm for the game, he’s not a crazy ingenious creator, he won’t be able to burst past his man, not a good runner in behind.
