Please consider donating to the Alzheimer’s Association here: tinyurl.com/chkcze6v As the Brewers head to their second ever World Series, I grieve that my dad won’t enjoy it the way he once would have. He watched basically every game for years until Alzheimer’s stole that interest from him. He doesn’t follow them now, though I’ve been showing him highlights from the playoff run. He’s honestly happier that I’m excited than he is about the Brewers themselves, which is a beautiful thing in itself. But 5-6 years ago, we would have been catching every game from this run and chatting back and forth the morning after. While I still have my dad and I am grateful for it every day, I’ve had to grieve so many things that have changed and will never be the same. So I added to my regular monthly donation to the Alzheimer’s Association this month in hopes that they advance their research, and in honor of all of those who have been mentally and physically lost to this disease.
