Here's my car.
Ford Fiesta 2008.
Currently in the garage being repaired.
Insurance: £300 per year
Tax: £16 per year
Fuel: £20-£25 per week
It's in the garage because the radiator is leaking and I have to fully refill the coolant tank 1-2 times per week.
The garage just phoned and said it's £205 all in, including a new radiator.
£205 today, but this car will keep going for another 10 years.
Meanwhile people are financing £400/month cars that'll be worth nothing in 5 years.
Old and paid off beats new and owned by the bank.
Anyone else driving something ancient and proud of it?

Gas is brutal.
Everything costs more.
So how is Arizona Iced Tea still 99¢?

£260k for a “detached” house.
The gap between the two houses is basically wide enough to post a letter through.
We’ve reached the point where estate agents are just making things up.
I'm 27 years old and I don't own a home.
This is the CHEAPEST detached house in my area is £260,000.
"Detached" apparently now means a few inches of gap from your neighbours.
Who decided this still counts?
£260k for a house that's basically holding hands with the one next to it.
This country is a joke.

Replying to @JGWorldThoughts
The gap is enough to fit a letter through

This should not be classed as a detached house.
When did “detached” start meaning a gap you can’t fit a bin through?
£260,000.
For a house that’s basically holding hands with the one next door.
Who decided this still counts?
Your neighbour can probably hear your toaster.
Meanwhile we’re told to just save harder.
Something has gone very wrong with house prices in this country.
Is this detached or not?

Earned just over £50,270 this year?
Congrats.
You just entered the higher rate tax band.
40% on anything above that.
That’s before National Insurance.
Before student loans.
Most of your money is still taxed at 20%.
But that next £1 pound?
Yeah, HMRC wants 40p of it.
Welcome to the UK.🇬🇧

Why do some companies give their best deals to new customers while charging loyal customers more?
Insurance. Broadband. Mobile contracts.
Shouldn't loyalty be rewarded rather than punished?
Why do so many people have to threaten to leave just to get a fair price?

Our bifold doors have fallen down before we had a chance to fit them.
Is it windy near you?

When working out your salary per hour do you factor in commuting time
Joel | World Thoughts retweeted
The clocks have gone back an hour, so naturally my body has decided 04:30am is a perfectly reasonable time to start the day. 😂
Everyone else enjoying an extra hour in bed. I’m already living tomorrow.
It’s going to be a LONG Sunday.

A man told me I needed to see a video on his phone.
It was 12 minutes long. I lost interest at 30 seconds.
I did not know if I was allowed to leave, so I watched all of it.
He smiled the entire time.

Earning £50k in the UK sounds like a milestone.
Until you realise every pay rise gets chipped away by tax, National Insurance, childcare and a cost of living that never seems to stop climbing.
A decent salary shouldn’t feel like you’re barely getting ahead.
