Typical government regulation logic:
it's dangerous here,
so you can only go 30,
so I made it more dangerous,
so you can only go 35.

🌊 Republicans, so far, have won only 4 of 27 House races in these states.
💰 Supporters of these ballot ?s were outspent in each state, as much as 242-1.
📰 Media endorsements & coverage went how you expected.
⛹️♀️ (Mostly Democrat) voters protected girls' sports, anyway.

Remember, remember, the 5th of November!
Sure, the normal reason (1605) is also #ChurchHistory, but today in 1858 John & Mary Paton land on Tanna (now Vanuatu 🇻🇺).
John: "It will make no difference to me whether I am eaten by Cannibals or by worms." Mary did die there.

Remember, remember, the 5th of November (1605):
"The last man to enter Parliament with honest intentions."
#OTD November 5, 1605:
Guy Fawkes is arrested in a cellar beneath the House of Lords in London, guarding 36 barrels of gunpowder. He was part of a group of English Roman Catholics led by Robert Catesby who planned to blow up Parliament at its State Opening that day and kill King James I. The plot was uncovered after an anonymous warning letter, and Fawkes was later tried and executed for treason.

BREAKING: Protect Kids Colorado declares VICTORY on all three of their ballot initiatives:
1. Protect girls' sports
2. Ban sex change surgeries for kids
3. Life in prison for sex trafficking of kids
They were outspent by more than 18 to 1 and they still won during a blue wave.

There will now be two megachurch pastors in the Senate, but they're both Democrats so there will be zero thinkpieces about a threat to separation of church and state or the rise or Christian nationalism.

In case anyone was thinking boys in girls sports may be politically viable if:
💣 Republicans had a disastrous night in every possible way
🤑 The "No" side out-spent the "Yes" side 18-1
🏳️🌈 You're in one of the most socially liberal states in the USA
Think again!
