ALT a golden retriever walks toward the camera across cement sidewalk. he's carrying a large stuffed carrot in his mouth. the stuffed toy is about the same length as the dog's body. his golden fur shines in the sunlight.

ALT a profile view of the golden walking across a cement courtyard. he's facing away from the camera, and half of the giant stuffed carrot extends from the left side of his mouth.

ALT a snap of the the golden retriever is captured from behind as he walks across a red brick walking path. he's still loyally carrying his massive stuffed carrot.

ALT the dachshund puppy in the yellow raincoat has angled his body so he's facing the camera. his floppy ears are each the size of his head, and his brown eyebrow dots are lifting up slightly as he grows increasingly concerned about the weather. we'd never let anything happen to him.

ALT an elderly fawn pug stands on a gray rug with his head tilted slightly to one side. his wrinkles have enhanced over the years, and his formerly black ears are now gray. in the foreground, a person holds out a plate with a decadent two-tiered dog “cake” of savory snacks: two layers of wet food, decorations of bone-shaped cookies, and a ring of what appears to be mozzarella bits around the edge. two polka-dotted number-shaped candles on top proudly announce that our boy’s 17.

ALT the old pug still has it in him. he’s attacking his birthday cake with gusto, just really going for it. his mouth is open wide, revealing no teeth at all, and his tongue is curled up in a little scoop, prepared to shovel as much of this goodness into his face at once as possible.

ALT a blond italian greyhound wearing a dark green turtleneck stands in a field of little yellow dandelions. he’s staring right at the camera with a very pointed glance, like he dares you to come closer. a dark grayish brown scottish deerhound stands behind him, towering up toward the clouds, fur blowing in the wind on this bright day.

ALT a brown and white pup with pointy brown ears poses in front of a white backdrop. he’s wearing an orange bandana and a sturdy harness that connects to wheels in place of his front legs. there’s a Puppy Bowl XIX logo in the lower right corner.

ALT a veterinarian in a white lab coat holds a stethoscope to the little pup with no front legs. the person’s hands cradle his ribcage, and he’s squinting a bit as he patiently waits.

ALT the small pup with two legs rests on a blanket with a bright geometric pattern. he’s resting on his chest in the front, and his back two legs are tucked up. he’s looking up above the camera, and his tiny black eyebrows are questioning. his body is white with brown spots that match his brown face and ears, and the insides of his ears are a delicate pink.

ALT an aerial view of a mountain of stuffed toys and plush blankets. camouflaged in the middle of the pile is the little white pup with brown spots and no front legs, who’s snoozing with his head propped up on a gigantic lambchop toy.
