Update 10:30 We now have more than 1,100 members out with the majority of them being in Trinity. Hang on Hartselle/Somerville it’s heading your way! Storms are moving through again and leaving outages in their wake. We have 417 members without power in the Trinity/Decatur area around the Beltline and Hwy 20. 3:00 P.M.: Over 3,500 members remain without power. For those on and around Rock Creek Road in Somerville, the outage is due to a downed tree on lines, which snapped a pole. The storms moving through this morning have left several hundred members without power. At this time we have 778 members without electricity from several outages scattered across the service area. The largest of these is in the Falkville area, affecting about 740 members. Crews are already dispatched with more on the way. A tree falling across lines behind the hospital has caused an outage in Moulton affecting 1,700 members at this time. The tree broke a cross arm on a pole back in the woods in a swampy area. We had to bring in the track machine to get to it to make repairs. We have an outage in the Bankhead forest along Hwy 33 caused by a car running off the road. It doesn’t look like anyone was hurt and crews are working now to replace the pole. Please watch out for them if you are driving in that area and be careful. @MoultonAdv

UPDATE 10:45 pm: The storms have passed but left a lot of damage in their path. We currently have 2,767 members without power scattered over 38 locations across our area. JWEMC crews and contract crews have all been called in to get the power back on as quickly as possible. They will work until the last light is back on.
