One thing worth highlighting about Kim Hellberg's time at Hammarby is his incredible ability to develop players and get the absolute best out of them. When he arrived, several established senior players were underperforming. Within a relatively short period, he had transformed some of them into the best players in Allsvenskan. But what's even more impressive is what he's done with younger players. Under Hellberg, Hammarby developed and sold players who attracted serious interest from major European clubs, eventually breaking the Swedish transfer record. Just look at some of the names: Toure – Now at Newcastle. Deniz Gül – Sold to Porto, now at Galatasaray. Sebastian Tounekti – Sold to Celtic. Adrian Lahdo – Sold to Como for what was then a Swedish transfer record. And it's not just about developing talent. His ability to identify players' strengths and reinvent their roles is equally impressive. Marcus Karlsson was a young right-back whom Hellberg converted into a central midfielder. He's now arguably the best defensive midfielder in Allsvenskan. Hampus Skoglund was promoted from the youth setup and has developed to the point where he received a call-up to Sweden's senior national team during the Nations League. Abraham was originally a right winger. Hellberg moved him into a central striker role, and he's now the league's second-highest goalscorer, with a potential move to a top French club on the horizon this winter. The common denominator here is Hellberg. He doesn't just improve teams tactically. He identifies potential that others haven't seen, develops players, and consistently makes them perform above expectations.
