Israel deserves a future built on democracy, equality and peace.
Ahead of tomorrow’s elections, the Party of European Socialists (PES) stands in solidarity with The Democrats, our associated member party, and its leader, Yair Golan.
In a joint letter, PES President Stefan Löfven and Secretary General Giacomo Filibeck expressed their support:
“A democratic, liberal and progressive Israel, grounded in the rule of law and respect for the fundamental rights of all its citizens, is essential to the country’s future.”
We share a commitment to social justice and to a just and lasting peace between Israelis and Palestinians through a two-state solution, enabling both peoples to live in peace, security and dignity.
“We hope that the elections will mark a step towards renewed confidence in democratic institutions and a more just, inclusive and hopeful future for Israel and all its citizens,” they wrote.
Why did you not make arrangements for your retirement?
Dear @JohnHealey_MP , did you know that the State Pension pays £241 per week?
Your proposed new Minimum Wage pays £528 for 40 hours.
HOW THE FUCK DO YOU EXPECT WE PENSIONERS TO LIVE ON LESS THAN HALF THE MINIMUM WAGE?????
Pensioners have that amount per year because they chose not to prepare for retirement which doesn't come out of no where.

I love this time of year, love dark afternoons and evenings!

How can you feel OK paying a Mexican woman to be pregnant, get a C-section and express milk for a baby she doesn’t get to keep? How is this being presented as socially acceptable? thetimes.com/article/4e09e57…
Because people who say things like "they have their own fucking ambulances" send tweets like that.
They also respond to 999 calls.
I wasn't happy with how Andy Burnham became Prime Minister, I don't think it was an absolute in order to win again & I think tactics used were unsavoury.
But I am so utterly impressed by him and the government he leads. 🌹

A budgeted 2.4% pay rise for NHS staff in England next year has been labelled a ‘betrayal’ of nursing staff.
Health unions have once again called for an end to the NHS Pay Review Body process, and for ministers to negotiate pay directly.

It is a shameful rise after the inappropriate rises that medical doctors have receieved.
Pay rise above 2.4% would hit elective targets, DHSC warns ift.tt/dbsLyV3
This only makes sense if you think that this means the public sector is paid more than the private sector.
The private sector pays considersbly more for middle and higher roles - an incetive. Of course, therefore, any numerical increase will see a lower percentage increase. It isn't hard to see that.
Additionally - why shouldn't the public sector pay generously?

RIP Corbynism. You died in 2019 but some of you kept fighting like the last Japanese soldier in the forest for 7 more years.
Reported NHS pay rise offer of 2.4% for Agenda for Change staff from the government will be offensive after the bumper pay rises given to medical doctor staff.
