Unfortunate victims of the correlation between how much your time is valued and your proximity to the rail station, hence some speakers hosted at Nuffield and SBS

Just got my bike back from the shop, unfortunately that goes so far with the overlapping seminar times

I was planning on returning to the UK to finish my studies anyways, but the NHS surcharge is a much better deal than paying market rate for insurance back in the US since I did not have coverage from my job, particularly as a young person with limited health risk

One thing they never warn you about attending a renowned university is that there are too many interesting guest speakers and they will often be scheduled at the same time on opposite ends of campus

People will post โ€œIโ€™m ideology X and every ideology Y Iโ€™ve met thinksโ€ฆโ€ and itโ€™s immediately clear that theyโ€™ve only ever engaged with politics online

Two things are true 1. Economists are, in expectation, correct about the effects of any given policy and youโ€™d be foolish to ignore them 2. Economists are, by and large, not in the business of asking โ€œWhat the hell is water?โ€ style questions about our economy.
Most people who study the economy for a living (economists) are not Marxists or socialists. That should tell us something.

When you put it like that, it becomes apparent that the Vermont political identity is as much inherited from New France as New England

This happened to me a few months ago, so I just moved to the UK
I have reached that last threshold of adulthood in America today: I no longer have health insurance.

Well, sometimes a pure-strategy equilibrium doesnโ€™t exist so firms adopt mixed-strategy pricing, drawing from a probability distribution of prices determined by heterogeneity in consumer price sensitivity and information constraints
Liberal misinformation is so funny wdym โ€œcorporations donโ€™t choose their prices or costsโ€

Disheartening, but not surprising, to see tenured academics in my field join in on bashing humanities and social sciences job postings as though economic history and research on social change and cultural causes of development are somehow going to escape the cuts being invited
