America finally had the opportunity to repudiate the party of Trump and Musk that so callously humiliated and reduced our great weather service. Thank god for self-correcting democracy.
I try to stay aloof about this stuff or else I'd be unable to function. But America had probably the best weather enterprise in the world and then decided to systematically destroy it. I hope it's worth it to own some libs or whatever

For posterity, my guesstimate prediction for tomorrow’s senate map. “Tilt” = I expect the margin to fall within 2%, “lean” = 4%, “likely” = 8%, “solid” = >8%. Share yours if you have

Hello friends in the midwest - any recommendations for fun things to do in Door County? Especially northern tip (near Ellison Bay / Gills Rock)

The high-res aerial imagery taken in the wake of Katrina is probably the most insane thing I've ever seen

For some reason, the message + signature looks like the April 3 1974 tornado map

However good the in-flight experience gets on United, the airline will simply never be a desirable options until they manage to fix their terrible hubs

Doing DTW and LGA instead of my usual ORD and EWR and man everything is just so much better.

In the UVA and Duke cases, the more information that made its way to the public, the clearer it became the accusations were fiction. The opposite is happening in the Cornell case. The more we learn, the more it becomes obvious most of those with knowledge UNDER reacted. 1/
I'm warning everyone to beware the rush to judgment in the Cornell rape case, which bears some similarities to past media misfires like UVA and Duke Lacrosse. It's wildly inappropriate to demand mob justice for those 7 fraternity brothers based on details in a lawsuit that are totally contradicted by earlier statements the purported victim made to police. This does not mean she's lying, or that nothing bad happened, just that it's far too early to pre-judge this case. And really we all ought to know better by now. reason.com/2026/09/29/beware…

Shameful, disgusting stuff out of Cornell, my Alma mater, regarding a 2024 rape case at a fraternity. Horrific to imagine dozens of bystanders in a group chat either participating in a gang rape or facilitating it with inaction. This should be the end of Cornell Greek life.

Or in 2022, when fraternity events were briefly suspended following <four reports> of roofies and a sexual assault. Again, nothing really happened to Cornell Greek life, and now we’re here.

You see this and it’s so obvious the issue is extreme and systematic

The massive and intense category four hurricane underwent an explosive extratropical transition while hooking towards the Ohio Valley. Extremely heavy rain overspread the southern Appalachians in a prolific PRE, followed by tropical downpours with the cyclone’s circulation.
