Last month we got roasted by our @beehiiv customers.
It sucked, so I wrote about what happenedπ

the biggest mistake brands can make is treating your MCP like an afterthought (eg just slapping it on top of your API).
The @beehiiv team has been heads down for the last 2 months trying to build the best MCP experience possible - and people are loving it
quick shout-out to @beehiiv & @denk_tweets's team:
the beehiiv MCP integration is freaking great and this week i had it generate a survey via claude co-work and it just worked
saved me a crazy amount of time and good lord, this feels like agentic ai *actually* working
2012: Launched a rugby charity in Uganda with brother (failed).
2013: Headed to Trinity to study Econ. Planned to become a finance bro.
2014: Realized I didn't like finance. Switched sights to mgmt consulting.
2015: Won a consulting competition. Landed an internship at Deloitte.
2016: Worked on blockchain during the internship. Loved it. Went to a blockchain hackathon. Met Kevin & @z_a_c_h_d , won it. Decided to start a company with our idea (Ticketchain).
2017: Doubled down on startup. Turned down a post-grad CS degree in London. Joined an accelerator. Raised some money.
2018: Full grind. Slept on sofas and in friends' parents' attics (s/o Kevin & Mark). Ran out of cash. Closed it down.
2019: Decided my career was in Growth. Moved to Australia. Joined @CamplifyTeam as Head of Growth.
2022: Took the company from $1.6M β $25M revenue. Paid out $60M to community members worldwide. IPO'd. Decided my career should be in Product. Moved back to the UK. Joined KOMI (pre-revenue) as a PM.
2024: Accidentally ended up in Growth & Marketing again. Built one of the most popular link-in-bio tools in the creator economy. Hit $1M revenue.
2025: Decided I definitely had to get back to Product. Joined @beehiiv as PM to own product expansion.
2026: Biggest quarter ever. Hit $30M ARR. Became Head of Product.
Wouldn't change a thing.
This is the reaction we push for whenever we kick off a beta launch at @beehiiv π₯

Just tested @beehiiv's MCP and it's really cool
A few things I've done:
> Calculate the subscriber LTV per acq channel (super time consuming to do with excel sheets)
> Analyze the newsletter performance and flag any deliverability drops
> Analyze our acq channels' OR/CTR

today we're introducing On-Demand Ads β the next evolution of the beehiiv Ad Network.
no more waiting for new opportunities. no more scheduling weeks in advance.
just premium sponsorships, available whenever you want them
A big focus for @beehiiv recently has been dialling in our Web builder agent to consistently deliver better quality outputs and experiences for users ('Consistently' being the hardest part).
Sounds like we're making progress!
Thanks @Jeff__Benjamin
Truly insane work at @beehiiv. I'm literally just telling the website builder what I want in my homepage layout in a chatbox and it builds sections for me to work inside...
It's way over my head how/why it works so well but incredible product @denk_tweets

Replying to @Emily_Sundberg @ValentineNews_
I don't think it's a platform issue - I think it's a broader discussion about that type of very important journalism and the institutions that are needed to support it
independent media outlets like feed me, status, and the thousands of others supported by beehiiv and substack are perfectly suited for the business models that these platforms have unlocked. the shift from a few mainstream outlets who control the narrative to countless smaller independent outlets I believe is a net positive for consumers and for the journalists/entrepreneurs behind them.
but unfortunately the types of important journalism that requires months-long investigative work, or being stationed in dangerous conflict zones isn't super conducive to this new independent media model (at least not yet). this is where the larger media organizations really shine.
I'm self aware enough to acknowledge that beehiiv, as a nascent technology platform focused on building great product and a platform for independent voices to flourish, cannot possibly offer the security clearances or assurances of a NYT/WaPo to properly support those journalists in active war zones.
I also think it's naive and slightly dishonest of substack to think otherwise
