I’m not sure how many times I need to say this, but citizens are not to blame for asking questions and challenging the status quo. People are entitled to challenge the status quo, question government decisions and expect answers from those in power. That is part of living in a free and open democracy. If our public institutions are failing the public, directing anger at the people pointing it out does nothing to fix the problem. Neither does labelling, shaming or lecturing them into silence. Public trust has to be earned through actions. Start by listening, acknowledging what has gone wrong and taking responsibility. Citizens asking questions are doing their part. Those entrusted with power need to do theirs.

York Police Seeking Additional Victims After Man Charged With Multiple Sexual Offences Against Minor York Regional Police are seeking additional victims after charging a 23-year-old Toronto man with multiple sexual offences involving a minor who investigators say was led to believe the suspect was a youth. According to police, the investigation began after the victim came forward on August 25, 2026, after learning the suspect’s real age. Investigators allege the victim was first contacted by the suspect through social media in July 2024. The suspect allegedly led the victim to believe he was a youth before meeting with her on several occasions and engaging in sexual activity. Following an investigation by the York Regional Police, Lucien Teufack, 23, of Toronto, was charged with: -Sexual Interference x3 -Sexual Assault x3 -Luring a Child Under 14 Years of Age -Luring a Child Under 16 Years of Age x2 -Invitation to Sexual Touching -Utter Forged Document Police have released an image of Teufack as investigators believe there may be additional victims. Investigators say the suspect is known on social media by the usernames “@ itsacrificed” and “@ userislucien.” Anyone who believes they may have information relevant to the investigation or who may have been victimized is encouraged to contact York Regional Police.
