Is there anything not for sale in Alberta? Parks- for sale, mountains-for sale, education-for sale, healthcare- for sale, registries- for sale, oil- for sale #ableg #abpoli #UCPcorruption

Yes they subsidize the oil and gas sector billions
And $7B is about half of what they should be paying in royalties
Alberta has the lowest royalties anywhere in the world

@DaleNally_AB is on a $5000 Booze Cruise in Kentucky, USA…drinking it.

Governments don't generally impose time limits on motions they are confident in defending. So for the UCP to have just 1 hour of debate on their new electoral map, it's an indication this whole thing is exactly what we think it is — cheating. #ableg

We must all recognize a hard truth: a ruling party gerrymandering electoral boundaries for political advantage is a direct threat to democracy. Rushing legislation without debate to force this through is not normal. Never forget what the UCP has done to Alberta.

Not only did Dale Nally charge taxpayers for one booze cruise, he allegedly charged Albertans for TWO!
$5400 worth!
Smith tried to spin it, but she also confirmed that Nally is now under investigation, but he hasn't been removed as a minister.
The entitlement is breathtaking.

As a Canadian citizen living in Alberta, I feel strongly that my rights under the Charter should be protected -- this includes attempts by a ruling and corrupt provincial political party to gerrymander electoral boundaries.

It’s actually 2 Booze Cruises now…$5400.
Name me one service that our tax dollars are paying for that HAS NOT been cut.
Go ahead and I’m listening.

My community school can’t afford construction paper and tempura paint - but I’m glad @DaleNally_AB got a $4000k liquor tour.
Lots of censorship on the UCP’s Facebook pages lately. Wonder why? #UCPletthemeatcake #UCPunfittolead #abpoli #abed #ableg #gerrymandering #boozecruise #corruptcare

What Danielle Smith and the UCP are about to do, gerrymandering electoral boundaries, is clearly unconstitutional, likely illegal, and probably fruitless - causing fierce backlash to her authoritarian bs.
Put that on the epitaph of her political career.

I am non-partisan.
The Notley NDP government was by every measure the most competent, effective, honest provincial government Alberta had since the Lougheed era.
Forget your partisan mythology, vote rationally for capable, honest people committed to public service #abpoli

So...how do we demand more details about voter data breaches, secretive conversations with separatists, playoff game luxury boxes, gerrymandering? #UCP #abed #ableg #cdnpoli
The bill would standardize school report cards, demand more details on how teachers spend PD days and create a process for dealing with unresolved parent concerns.

Albertans voted on this.
In a UCP referendum.
That we all paid for.
Albertans said no.
The UCP is doing it anyway.
Danielle Smith doesn’t care about democracy, only power. And she will waste so much of our money in a desperate attempt to hold onto it.

Danielle Smith is designing an old barn dance, to make sure three three senior ministers — Mike Ellis, Rajan Sawhney and Demetrious Nicolaides win their seats.
Boundaries for Calgary-North West, Calgary-Bow and Calgary-West are shifting to include more rural voters.
It’s time for an individual or a public interest group to launch legal challenges in a provincial or a federal court to argue that manipulated boundaries violate the right to "effective representation.”
Otherwise, Smith might throw a snap election before legal action can be taken or before a possible leadership review.

Why are Albertans paying @DevinDVote $375,896 when he refused to tell media whether or not he voted for Canadian unity?
Oh yes…he also spent time over 8 months campaigning for Donald Trump in the U.S.

While the UCP ignore critical needs like building schools, hospitals, & addressing affordability, suddenly they have a new priority nobody wants :
standardized report card
Theses are not a priority for parents or teachers & will do nothing to improve class sizes or complexity.

I heard a term that I believe describes the Smith Government.
Historically unqualified.
The next election will be a choice between competence, or continued chaos.

The gerrymandering has come out in Alberta.
It means the end of 15 years of work on a level playing field for Lethbridge New Democrats.
Profoundly illiberal, undemocratic, and a disgrace for every person involved in this fiasco.
Some pretty wild takeaways from today's electoral boundaries committee meeting:
Lethbridge would be split into FOUR ridings instead of its current two urban ones. Three would combine city neighbourhoods with surrounding rural areas.
Three urban-rural hybrid ridings are proposed along Calgary's northwest and western edges. Springbank gets split up. Kathleen Ganley questioned why the panel was citing GOLF COURSES to justify its boundaries.
Okotoks and Diamond Valley would be split apart, with Diamond Valley paired with Banff. The panel's dissenting members say public submissions overwhelmingly favoured keeping them together.
Ganley says Calgary and Edmonton ridings would average 7,000 more residents per MLA than ridings outside those cities. That's a 14 percent difference.
The NDP wanted to put its concerns about the maps on the record. UCP MLAs voted 3–2 to end the committee's review before those motions could even be considered.
The NDP also wanted taxpayers to know how much the panel and its outside consultants were paid. UCP MLAs voted that down too. Ganley says the panel chair gets an extra $5,000/month on top of regular pay.
The UCP says the maps should be debated in the Legislature once they're public. The NDP wanted the committee to scrutinize them now.
Meanwhile, Albertans still haven't seen the maps. The report is due November 2.

Parents deserve clear, consistent information about their child’s education and confidence that their concerns will be heard.
That’s why we’re introducing Bill 35. If passed, these changes would establish provincial standards for report cards, require greater transparency about how PD and other non-instructional days are used, and require school boards to have processes for addressing parental concerns that remain unresolved. We also plan to develop an online tool to help families navigate concerns.
These changes are about strengthening transparency, accountability and parental involvement across Alberta’s education system.

Bill 35 is a MASSIVE distraction from an unpopular UCP failing public education
The "Teacher Snitch Line" does ZERO to fix exploding class sizes or complexity. It’s meant to destroy public trust
Fund our schools
Protect our province
Leave the separatist agenda behind
