The Greens "Zionism is Racism" motion is a disgrace. As politicians, it is our responsibility to confront such insidious hate, and we will do so, @Councillorsuzie tells the London Assembly

Labour members are urging the Government to take decisive action against Israel by:
✅ recognising the genocide in Gaza
✅ imposing wider sanctions on Israel
✅ ending all arms sales
✅ supporting an immediate and lasting ceasefire

Tube drivers are well paid BECAUSE they go on strike. Other industries need to follow suit.
I have been in London when the tubes strike. It sucks. It's awful. But that is the fault of companies that refuse to be reasonable with employees. RMT workers don't want to disrupt you.

What a joke: the non-Jews telling the Jew what Zionism is & isn’t. The ignorant arrogance is astonishing
🇬🇧 “Is it now the Labour position that a genocide is not racist?”
Green Party leader Zack Polanski confronted Conservative and Labour politicians at the London Assembly on Thursday after Conservative Susan Hall introduced a motion condemning the Greens’ decision to define Zionism as racism.
Hall called the Green Party’s position “abhorrent” and argued it threatened Jewish Londoners.
Polanski, who is Jewish, accused Hall of weaponizing antisemitism and challenged Labour members over their government’s continued military support for Israel amid the genocide in Gaza.
The Assembly passed Hall’s motion 19–3, with just the three Green members voting against it.

I am in a long line of antizionist Jews who political opponents try to make people hate.
But I wont be quiet, not on criticism of Israel, nor on tackling the extreme wealth and poverty pay that both the Tories and now Labour have overseen in office.

The BBC received more than 700 complaints after it failed to speak to any Palestinians in a debate on whether 'Zionism is racism', it has been revealed
🗣️ 'Laura Kuenssberg asked how the motion lands with Jewish people. The BBC quoted the Board of Deputies and Israel's government. Not one Palestinian was heard. Tell the BBC.'

Journalists should scrutinise politicians and the answers we give. That's the whole point.
But it's not fair to say that someone isn't answering a question when the answer is just outside the frame of what you agree or disagree with!

This is why they wanted Zack gone. All of the coordinated attacks of the last few weeks for this?
More will come as Burnham tackles gherkins instead of the gazillions being guzzled away by banks, oil companies, tech oligarchs, arms companies, supermarkets etc. all on our dime.

This is so strong and clear.
You can't help but notice that if this was in the UK context - you wouldn't be able to get a single one of these sentences out without a journalist barracking the person saying it constantly.
The UK media is in quite a state.
I've been in politics for a quarter century. It's hard to express how staggering it is to see a conversation like this on corporate US media. The Morning Joe panel gobsmacked by the directness of @AbdulElSayed's points.

Cash for access. Stinks.
Palantir’s Tom Watson, ex-Labour MP, wrote to Yvette Cooper last month saying the controversial US company could help boost the UK’s tech sovereignty, letters show. Weeks later, sources say the UK is extending its NHS contract for two more years

Hi @bbclaurak,
Zionism has resulted in the bombing of children & the killing of tens of thousands of innocent people in Gaza.
Again - the actual controversy is the Labour Government are arming that & the BBC 'debate' if it's racist.
How's that for answering the question?

Since privatisation in 1991, the water industry has built 0 major reservoirs and made English rivers the dirtiest in Europe.
This is not due to a lack of oversight. It is because privately owned companies lack incentives to deliver the investment needed to fix our water system.

Andy Burnham is right.
A huge difference between a Labour Government backing more oil and gas, worsening climate breakdown, and the Green Party fighting to protect our planet and build a better future.
That difference will only become starker.
