BE KIND
Read it through a few times to grasp its meaning…
“When the other person is hurting, confused, troubled, anxious, alienated, terrified; or when he or she is doubtful of self-worth, uncertain as to identity, then understanding is called for.
The gentle and sensitive companionship of an empathetic stance… provides illumination and healing. In such situations deep understanding is, I believe, the most precious gift one can give to another”. (Carl Rogers)

🕯️ IN MEMORY OF PC MATTHEW BLADES & PC TOM CLOUGH 🕯️
Today is a profoundly sad day as the funerals of PC Matthew Blades and PC Tom Clough take place.
As a member of our community, and communities country wide will be deeply saddened by the loss of two brave police officers who dedicated themselves to protecting and serving others.
Today, our thoughts are with their families, friends, colleagues and everyone who knew and loved them. No doubt that any words can truly express the pain of such a loss.
May they both rest peacefully, and may their families find strength and comfort in the love and support surrounding them today.
Gone but never forgotten.
We will remember them. 💙🕯️
With deepest condolences to all at Cleveland Police, thank you for your service.

🚑❤️ What being an experienced Emergency Care Assistant (FREC 4) means to me
Being an experienced ECA with @HpoolAmbulance Hartlepool Ambulance Charity means a lot more to me than simply having a qualification.
It represents years of training, experience, learning from every casualty and every situation, and continually developing the confidence and knowledge needed to provide the best care I can to a casualty in need.
When I’m wearing the uniform and carrying my medical kit, I know that people are trusting me to stay calm, assess what’s happening, recognise when someone may be seriously ill or injured, and provide the appropriate care while further help is arranged.
Whether that’s using a defibrillator, managing an airway, providing oxygen therapy or pain relief as Entonox, dealing with trauma, splinting an injury, or simply being there for someone who is frightened and needs reassurance, every situation matters.
Being experienced also means knowing your limitations. It’s about recognising when something is beyond your scope, calling for the right help and making sure the casualty gets the care they need.
I’m proud to do what I do, and even prouder to do it as a volunteer.
I don’t do it for money or recognition. I do it because I genuinely care about helping people.
There are difficult days, challenging incidents and times when things don’t go as planned. But when you know you’ve made a difference to someone when they needed it most, that’s what makes it worthwhile.
I’m proud to be an experienced Emergency Care Assistant (FREC 4) with Hartlepool Ambulance Charity.
🚑❤️ Volunteer. Train. Respond. Make a difference.
