SOMALILAND INDEPENDENCE RECOGNITION INSTITUTE congratulates prof. Robinson on his Nobel prize and thanks him for his kind words recognising #somaliland achievements
Nobel Prize winner Prof. Robinson describes #Somaliland as a compelling example of successful indigenous state-building. After receiving his Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences for his studies on how institutions are formed and how they affect prosperity, Professor James A. Robinson highlighted Somaliland's peace process and consensus-building during his Nobel lecture on December 8, 2024, at Stockholm University's Aula Magna. Prof. Robinson is the co-author of the acclaimed book Why Nations Fail, which explores how inclusive political and economic institutions drive long-term prosperity.
#nucleartestveterans @fleetstreetfox tells it like it is - she has got it 100% correct. Will @andyburnham listen?
Like you I have strong political views that are contrary to mr Kruger’s views. Unlike you I believe those that don’t share my views should be heard and challenged amicably in robust debate. I take my hat off to mr Kruger and the other speakers that provided stimulating debate to an engaged audience. Thanks theguardian.com/politics/202…
Replying to @JasonMccue
I’m surprised that you gave a platform to a far right politician like Danny Kruger—what a disgrace that your first national headlines are his vile anti-migrant remarks. As a regular visitor to Hauser and Wirth Somerset, I’m distinctly unimpressed. @mariellaf1
After years of talking about it, finally the Big Brue festival is upon us- an idea we hatched to provide a platform where people could amicably agree to disagree. Hopefully it provides an antidote to the toxic debates of the last years.
The festival is this weekend - see what the guardian newspaper says about it. theguardian.com/culture/2026…
join us @bigbruefestival next weekend - in this talk, I try and make the case for making Britain great again as a global hub for law/justice. Joined by Tim Bevan @Working_Title (film for GB)and Greg @OctopusEnergy (green for GB) - @mccuejury
Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe will be speaking at our new festival @bigbruefestival bigbrue.com next weekend: ‘I still have nightmares. In my mind, I’m stuck in Iran’. @mariellaf1 looking forward to seeing all there. telegraph.co.uk/news/2026/09…
Ex minister NOW agrees with our campaign that the nuclear test veteran scandal is ‘bigger’ than Windrush, post office etc. The vets and their legal team demand a special tribunal from the PM.
“An absolute cover-up.”
Ex-Veterans Minister Tobias Ellwood says the UK Nuclear Test Veterans “scandal” is bigger than infected blood, post office scandals and Windrush, "because of the longevity this has been going on and the number of people involved".

There you go - our vets need more than a pay off and apology, they and the UK need a special tribunal to provide accountability and to ensure this does not happen again.
Former Veterans Minister @Tobias_Ellwood admits misleading the Veterans and Parliament over the Veterans' medical records, having said “there is nothing to see here” in 2018. “I now realise that was a complete lie.”

Our festival is soon - do come along and join in! X pressreader.com/uk/the-daily…
Andy wants nationalisation of essentials, energy security and has room in the budget to invest + Donald wants UK to use North Sea energy and get tough on Iran = this Rhum idea: substack.com/@jasonmccue/not…
Please please sign this great petition for our military veterans’ special tribunal for justice. They never asked to be lab rats for our nuclear testing program…they were ordered. Time to set that injustice right.
Please sign the petition calling on Andy Burnham to implement a Special Tribunal for the Nuclear Test Veterans as he promised.
You can find the petition at: andykeepyourword.com

attached website to get tickets to our new festival of ideas/debate - the Big Brue - set for weekend 19/20 September 2026. It seeks to be an antidote to banal and toxic debate and be a platform where experts can amicably agree to disagree. Hope to see you there (and please don’t hesitate to push potential sponsors and media our way). It’s our first year, so be patient, but it promises to be fun, stimulating and form a bedrock for becoming an annual ideas/debate event in the UK. Jason
Imran deserves freedom and justice.
It has now been around 1,100 days since my father, Imran Khan, was imprisoned, and my brother and I haven’t heard his voice since March. For months, we’ve been denied contact with him. We remain in the dark about his access to healthcare as his eyesight continues to deteriorate. He urgently needs medical attention, and with no family or legal access, we don’t even get any second hand information or reassurance.
I’ve found myself especially missing him recently. I want to speak to him about mundane things like my cricket, books I’ve been reading and what new movies are good. I understand the people of Pakistan want their chosen leader free, but I miss my father more than ever.
But this is not just about a father. It is about Pakistan, and its future. A rigged, authoritarian regime continues to crush political opposition, undermine democratic institutions, and deny millions of Pakistanis their right to freely choose their leaders, whilst terrorising those who speak their beliefs.
I once again plea to the international community to not look away. Silence in the face of injustice only enables it.

-- PRESS RELEASE–
-- FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE --
LABRATS DEMAND JUSTICE AS THE RECENT ENFORCED DISCLOSURE OF MINISTRY OF DEFENCE STATEMENTS/REPORTS CONFIRM:
• Systemic destruction, loss, and withholding of critical Nuclear Test Veteran medical records. Evidence of ongoing destruction of critical files – including 48 Navy records destroyed as recently as 2025 despite ongoing proceedings and records being “destroyed by burning”.
• Evidence of the systemic failure to give servicemen medical tests at the time, despite policies to do so. A staggering 92% of sampled Navy medical files are missing mandated blood tests - underlying negligence in not taking/keeping crucial health tests on UK military personnel OR an intentional cover-up.
• The MOD’s own documents show that testing was designed as a shield against lawsuits and “unwelcome publicity”, not to protect the men.
• UK military personnel were used as ‘Lab Rats’ in the UK Government nuclear testing programme.
• LABRATS AND THE NUCLEAR TEST VETERANS’ LEGAL TEAM ECHO ANDY BURNHAM’S CALL TO INITIATE THE VETERANS’ PROPOSAL FOR THE FAST-TRACK ESTABLISHMENT OF A PROGRESSIVE AND EFFICIENT SPECIAL (JUSTICE) TRIBUNAL TO PROVIDE LONG OVERDUE TRUTH AND JUSTICE.
