From the ground up, the new Massachusetts Veterans Home at Holyoke is nearly complete!
Since construction began in summer 2023, the @MassGovernor @MassLtGov Healey-Driscoll Administration, including EOVS and @DCAMM_MA, have worked together with Commodore | Walsh, and @payettepeople to bring to life this new home to honor those who served.
We’re excited to announce that @VeteransHomeHLY construction is almost complete, marking a new chapter for Veterans in Western Massachusetts.
Take a look at how far we’ve come!

Today, on Purple Heart Day, we honor the courage and sacrifice of the service members who were wounded or gave their lives in defense of our nation.
We were recently honored to join the Somerville Department of Veterans' Services at its recent Purple Heart Recognition Breakfast, where local Purple Heart recipients were recognized for their extraordinary service. EOVS Deputy Secretary Andrea Gayle-Bennett was proud to present each honoree with an official citation from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in recognition of their sacrifice.
To all Purple Heart recipients: thank you for your service, your resilience, and your unwavering commitment to our country. We are forever grateful.

Shout out FIFA. I think we can all agree FIFA is a great organization that always does the right thing and in no way is this about it directly benefiting USMNT

Folarin Balogun will be available to play the USMNT’s round of 16 match against Belgium with his one-game red-card ban suspended.
The 25-year-old received a straight red card against Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Multiple FIFA officials told The Athletic after the game that a team is not able to appeal against a red card or the subsequent suspension.
However, Balogun is set to be available to face Rudi Garcia’s side as his suspension has been suspended.

Why is it ‘cancelled’ in the U.K. but ‘canceled’ in the U.S.?
Because we gave them that L in 1776.

This afternoon, Massachusetts Public Safety Officials received reports of an audible boom and ground tremors in Eastern Massachusetts. Although we do not yet know the cause, there are no known emergency police or fire requests connected to these reports and we do not believe there is any public safety threat.
We remain in contact with our local, state, and federal partners to monitor any impact and understand the cause when it becomes available.
