The “Hawk,” Andre Dawson, is one of the greatest athletes the state of Florida has ever produced.
He overcame debilitating knee injuries to achieve a career worthy of induction in the Baseball Hall of Fame.
Well deserved honor for one of greats!

Andre Dawson had a devastating knee injury in high school. Scouts lost interest. He didn’t get a college scholarship.
Many would have quit, but he walked on at FAMU, earned a scholarship, got drafted and then made it to the Show.
Even as he battled knee problems his whole career, he won the NL ROY, NL MVP, and 8 x Gold Gloves.
Result: Hall of Fame.
Today, I was proud to present the Governor’s Medal of Freedom to Baseball Hall of Famer and great Floridian Andre Dawson. His distinguished career in Major League Baseball, his contributions to the sport, and his lasting impact on our state have earned him this award.
From his childhood in Southwest Miami, to his college days at FAMU, to his legendary MLB career, “The Hawk” has represented Florida in the best possible way for decades. His generous support of FAMU and its baseball program has helped generations of student-athletes succeed. The Governor’s Medal of Freedom is the highest honor I can bestow on any Floridian, and Andre Dawson truly deserves this recognition.
Mississippi raised the bar. When standards rise, school grades may dip at first, but rising student performance follows. Kudos to @MissDeptEd, State Sup. Lance Evans and policymakers for setting higher expectations. mdek12.org/communications/20…
Great being with the LaMarcas. Chip, thank you for your service to Florida!
It was great to see former Florida Governor @JebBush today at the Tower Club in Fort Lauderdale. Jeb covered politics, education, AI/Technology, and so many issues. He left us feeling positive that the future is bright for our state and country.
Truly amazing progress by Ramp. More than 85,000 companies now save over $1B a month with @tryramp. That’s capital they can put back into their own businesses. Excited to see what this team will deliver with another $1.85B behind it. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

Today's Editorial Board @WSJopinion was right on point. Buying Russian diesel helps finance Putin’s war and weakens the pressure needed to end it. American energy policy should serve American security. Peace through strength requires holding the aggressor accountable.

Please explain how Delcy Rodríguez, Maduro’s vice president, is not equally responsible for this.
I’ll wait.

REPORT ALERT: My co-authors & I report that, nationally, more than a quarter of a million students with disabilities (SWDs) participate in a private #SchoolChoice program, representing 15.5-17.2% of all choice students, a rate higher than the representation of SWDs in district-run public schools. aei.org/research-products/re…

The WSJ puts a negative spin on this Treasury rule re: Trump accounts, but I’m not sure why. The fact is most extremely wealthy people have huge portions of their wealth in stocks.
Allowing donation of stocks directly into the accounts of kids will dramatically expand the amount that can and will be donated, probably by a lot.
This doesn’t affect the cash that can be put into accounts for investment into index funds.
Trump Accounts look entirely different after the Treasury Department turned on auto-enrollment and enabled stock donations. on.wsj.com/4hwcYDQ

Cooper is an impressive young man! I was honored to Zoom with him.
Cooper Campen argues that school choice benefits all students and describes a conversation he hosted with former Gov. Jeb Bush about school choice.

Thank you, Senator @SenRickScott, for your steadfast friendship and unwavering support for the Venezuelan people.
I am determined to return home to stand alongside our people and work with all who are ready to rebuild our nation.
A free and democratic Venezuela, anchored by transparent presidential elections, is in the vital interests of both our countries and represents the only way millions of exiled Venezuelans can finally come home.
We are prepared and eager to lead this new chapter, forging a strong, lasting alliance with the United States and the free world.
Venezuela will always remember those who stood by us at this decisive moment in our history.
I just had a very good phone call with @MariaCorinaYA today.
She has the right attitude, aptitude, and above all the support of the people of Venezuela to make the progress in civil society that leads to elections and the establishment of a fully democratic and prosperous republic.
She’s prepared to return to Venezuela peacefully and constructively, and she’s willing and ready to sit down with those currently holding power, including Delcy Rodríguez, as well as all relevant actors in the public and private sector to help build a better future for Venezuela. Her number one priority is freedom and prosperity for the people of Venezuela.
Thank you @POTUS for being engaged and working to help make this possible. Thank you @SecRubio for your continued work on this. Nothing good in Venezuela now or in the future would be possible without your efforts. You have ended a threat to the US but you also are improving the lives of the Venezuelan people and restoring an ally.
The best thing for everyone right now is for María Corina Machado to be in Venezuela. In every state in her homeland and among all social groups, the people are looking to her for leadership and support. They want her there to help build the future.
Her leadership will be great not only for the U.S., but countries around the world. She fights for peace, prosperity, and democratic freedom. That’s what Venezuelans deserve and I’m proud to work with her.
