learned this the hard way these last couple months february to june of this year i was annihilating when many others weren't - market really fit my style, so much to a degree where I actually got away with a ton of sloppiness (the infamous fat finger was probably a coyote top signal) and subsequently formed a lot of bad habits. ego grew so big from winning so hard i rationalized the tide turning as "variance" and kept it pushing. not only did i end up giving back most of what i gained in the mini-heater, i entirely eroded my confidence to a point that when better conditions arose - i wasn't on the nose and missed almost all of the rotations which compounded the drawdown. one thing they don't tell you about the plight of the ape is that it can quickly become "win big lose bigger" if cockiness and complacency begin to seep into your wallets. when this happens, the absolute worst thing you could do is keep clicking - the market will still be there when you aren't crashing out. in the grand scheme, just a minor setback. but if you fight these moments of forced humility - that is how you blow up cockroach mode // Still In The Game
From may 2023 to february 2025 i never had a red month , some of my green months were sometimes 2,5,10x my previous months The months from March to August i was getting raped expeditiously and for someone who’s never really seen red it was a lot of mental strain or whether i was washed or now and tbh i 100% felt i was but sometimes the certain meta / market isn’t fit for your trading style and when certain plays come around you will always hit them hard enough to recoup and more and that’s pretty much what august til now has been

Rule #1: If you're up $100k on a coin, ask yourself: Would I spend $100k on this coin right now if I wasn't already invested? If the answer is no, sell (This applies for any amount of profit)

“It’s not about who’s the best, it’s about who’s left” A quick story about training mma and winning in Crypto long-term. I’ve been involved with various forms of combat sports for close to a decade. 4 years into it, I was ready to quit forever. My injuries were starting to add up, my growth plateaued, and an 18 year old hotshot was beating me (and my ego) after only a few months of training. I realized that talent was real, and that I wasn’t talented in this area. Hmm...maybe Yoga would be better for me, and I could meet some babes. At the end of class, my coach said something to that class that I'd never forget. “It’s not about who’s the best, it’s about who’s left” What did he mean by this? There’s always going to be people who are more talented than you. But talent comes and goes. What’s even rarer than talent is the guy who just keeps showing up. The person who’s consistent. The guy who eventually becomes the best is the one who keeps training. This meant prioritizing recovery. This means putting down your EGO and not going 100% against the new kid and risking injury. This means investing in a strength & conditioning protocol so you can keep training long-term. Right now I’m visiting my parents and stopped by my old mma gym. My coach is still there. The place still looks the same, although the gloves needs to be replaced. There’s a new generation of people I’ve never seen before. I’m not as fast or as strong as I used to be. But I kept training the past decade, and let’s just say I’m no longer the weakest at the gym. Everyone from my generation is gone. Most of the people I thought were super talented quit a long time ago, or never fully recovered from injuries. This story makes me think a lot about Crypto and survival. If you just keep showing up, you’ll get better. But that means you have to prioritize survival. In the gym that meant not over-training, not letting my ego get the best of me, and training in a way that was sustainable in the long-term. Developing a game that would age well instead of fancy, athletic based movements. What does this look like in Crypto? • Taking profits even though you’re bullish • Increasing your long-term BTC stash • Avoiding leverage and other ways that can “injure you” • Only playing when you have an advantage • Instead of burning out, figuring out a way to be in Crypto that's more sustainable. Researching 3 hours a day everyday vs 14 hrs a day and burning out every few weeks. • Being comfortable leaving money on the table. I’m going shopping this week for some tokens. I’m ok with not getting the perfect entry - I just want to make sure I have exposure. There’s a glorification of the guys who made it in one cycle. Extreme survivorship bias - you'll hear about that guy but not the thousands of people who went busto trying to do the same thing. You’ll make it if you’re one of the last guys standing.

The theme's to reset. You don't have a time machine so don't let the past burden you. Reset and give yourself a fresh start. You can't seize new opportunities if you're stuck in the past.

Don't anchor yourself to your peak net worth. Bros, that's like the 45 yr old divorced dad thinking he has the same value he did back in university.
Cleanse your mind of your peak net worth Expunge eternal sunshine of the spotless mind

Some tips (not financial advice): 1) have monthly fiat income and lower your cost of living as much as possible 2) dca blue chips primarily (BTC, eth, sol, hype maybe) 3) only use a small % for Degen plays 4) always keep 20-25% in BTC (will stabilize) 5) screenshot? Take profit. 6) don’t go all in one buy, buy small %’s so you can get a better average price entry 7) when BTC passes $110k+ can start to take on more risk

If your new to the trenches chance are your gonna pay a huge price to learn, the skill gap between new players vs experienced players is just massive now It's like starting poker now and being forced to sit at a high stakes table with pros while you’re still learning the rules

Making money and managing money are two different skill sets. Not everyone who is good at making money is good at keeping it. Same with founding a company and running a company.

I see the mistake too often of people trying to be good at everything For example just because your good at trenching new pairs does not mean your gonna be good at perps Instead, find your edge / what your good at, and double down on it with tunnel vision god speed
