Zelensky is increasingly willing to publicly contradict Trump administration officials and point out the holes in their security proposals for Ukraine and Europe.
The idea of discussing European-Russian security infrastructure is not simple, and it can be dangerous. I was very clear with all our partners: I think that first we have to discuss how to end Russia’s war against Ukraine. Secondly, what the security infrastructure will look like for Ukraine. What security guarantees will Ukraine have? And then, depending on these answers, the sides can discuss the security infrastructure between Europe – or between the EU – and Russia. It’s dangerous when Russia wants to begin these discussions with a new security infrastructure in Europe. By the by, it's even more dangerous for the EU. We are not a member of the EU. We are not a member of NATO either. I am not trying to speak on their behalf. We all live in Europe. We don't want to have “Yalta 2.0.” We don't want to be divided by Russia. From an interview with Jake Tapper on CNN. (1/3)

Ukraine is hitting the launchers. I don’t know how they are doing it, but they are. If only Musk wasn’t such a bitch.
🚀🔥 Good news came from the Bryansk region, where two Iskander launchers were hit. 🔥 In Bryansk region, Pantsir-S1 was also hit. 🔥 In Luhansk region, Russian material and technical depots were hit in the Sokologirsk and Zaaidarivka areas. 🔥 In Zaporizhzhia region, in the Novobohdanivka area, a concentration of enemy UAV operators was hit.

What strikes me is how much of this Trump said out loud. On October 16, he said he almost didn't want the fight over transgender athletes settled because he wanted to keep campaigning on it. Voters were focused on the cost of living, and Republicans lost both chambers. Three days later, he named Stephen Miller chief of staff. Sarah's right: Trump once had a talent for hearing what the country was angry about. Now his favorite grievances seem to drown out everything else. For a man who built a political career claiming to speak for forgotten Americans, he's become remarkably good at forgetting what they're saying.
.@SarahLongwell25: "Trump has lost a real step. He used to have this lizard brain for public opinion, and the guy's 80 years old now and it seems to be going away. It's why he spent the entire election cycle not talking about costs and instead talking about men's butts."

Stephen Miller wanted to trigger a full-blown constitutional crisis by having Trump suspend the writ of habeas corpus. Other top White House officials opposed the idea and Trump never pulled the trigger. Now Miller is chief of staff.
Stephen Miller publicly said Trump was considering suspending habeas in May 2025. John Yoo told me at the time that suspending habeas would provide "much stronger ground for impeachment than Trump’s first two" impeachments. teapaw.org/ddiamond/status/206652…

russia released hostages from destroyed Oleshky then staged a rescue show with Melania’s help. Putin’s envoy got a White House podium. Now 36 ballistic missiles target Ukraine's energy grid. Trump delays Patriots while diesel deals stink of 🇺🇦 blood. TERROR PAYS.
Russia is preparing for trilateral talks by launching ballistic missiles at Ukraine’s critical infrastructure. Repair and rescue operations are underway in the affected regions wherever the security situation allows. In total, the Russians used 172 drones and 36 ballistic missiles, with all the missiles aimed at Kyiv and the surrounding region. Energy infrastructure was once again the main target. The capital is facing serious difficulties with its electricity, water, and heat supplies. Residential buildings and the Northern Bridge were damaged. A kindergarten was partially destroyed. In the Kyiv region, a substation connecting the Rivne and Khmelnytskyi Nuclear Power Plants to Kyiv and Ukraine’s central regions was hit. Substations were also damaged in the Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Rivne, Kharkiv, and Dnipro regions. In addition to Kyiv, twelve other regions came under attack. Nine people were injured, including one child. I thank all our people who defend the country against this terror every day, work to restore what has been damaged, and do everything they can to get Ukraine through the winter. But when Russia is trying to plunge Kyiv – a city of millions – and the entire country into a blackout, Ukraine must not be left alone. We are counting on increased bilateral support from the United States. We are counting on the U.S. Congress to give more attention to Ukraine, because Russia keeps increasing the number of its attacks. It is important that support for Ukraine remains among the priorities of U.S. policy. We are counting on both parties to stand united on matters of security, support for Ukraine, condemnation of Russian aggression, and increased sanctions pressure on Putin. America’s resolve and consistency in supporting Ukraine are crucial in bringing peace closer.

Russell Vought has found a neat way to make Congress optional: hold approved money until the fiscal year ends, then pretend the calendar did the canceling. In September, OMB sought $810 million in rescissions. The GAO said the administration couldn't use that request to let the funding expire. Somehow the man who lectures everyone about constitutional government keeps misplacing Article I. The stakes are Head Start, disaster relief, medical research, and the basic promise that laws passed by Congress mean something. Get the records. Put the officials under oath. Close the claimed loopholes. A president doesn't get a line-item veto just because his budget director knows how to wait until midnight.
Russell Vought is the most powerful Trump official most Americans have never heard of. And Democrats are coming for his power. @crampell explains how Trump’s budget chief helped undermine Congress’s authority and why his reckoning may be coming. lnk.thebulwark.com/4irI149?u…

Your tweet was far more distasteful than anything Jonah said about TPUSA as an organization, which can absolutely be criticized. Nothing says performative engagement like trying to make something out of nothing from an account that has you blocked. 🤷🏻‍♀️
Replying to @SouthernKeeks
You should screenshot and post this and then performatively juice outrage engagement from it from whatever online performative morality play you're doing next. I'm totally all fine and good with all of that, but don't DM me again and thank me for backing you up.

🇺🇦🇺🇸 Zelensky: I've heard from new people who will be in Congress, and also from the Democratic Party, that they stand on our side. They don't try to balance between us and Russia. They are not afraid to say that Russia is the aggressor. They don't want to give our land to Putin. And I think that, based on such things, of course, we count on even more support.

Ukraine has recently resumed attacking oil refineries in Russia with a vengeance and Trump has said or threatened...nothing. 🤔
🔥 Night of fires in Russia: warehouses burn in Rostov, strikes on an oil refinery and the Proton plant A massive fire broke out at a warehouse storing oils and polymers in Rostov-on-Don, engulfing 8,000 square meters. Russia’s Emergency Situations Ministry confirmed the blaze. Rosneft’s Saratov oil refinery is burning after a series of drone strikes. Thick smoke from the refinery fires has engulfed Saratov. Meanwhile, a missile strike damaged industrial facilities in Oryol. According to OSINT analysts, the target may have been the Proton plant, which produces electronic components. Explosions and air defense activity were also reported in Belgorod. The extent of the damage and the results of the attacks are still being assessed.

Trump betrayed MAHA
Former Trump White House adviser Calley Means reveals how RFK Jr. was allegedly shut out of a major pesticide decision concerning glyphosate. “They put an executive order down on the desk. I said, ‘This is a political disaster.’” “They said, ‘This is final. It's national security. It's coming out tomorrow.’” “Bobby should not be calling the president or calling anyone. This is not up for discussion.”

Incredible. Just three days after Republicans suffered historic midterm losses, with voters citing corruption as a major factor in their decisions, the leader of one of the country’s most prominent conservative political groups posts this. Matt Schlapp, the head of CPAC, who has settled multiple lawsuits for sexually assaulting men, posts a photo with Kimberly Guilfoyle, the disgraced and recently fired U.S. ambassador to Greece. Guilfoyle has also, as I first reported, been credibly accused of sexual misconduct, and her workplace behavior has led to at least one confidential settlement as well. Guilfoyle was also fired after she came under scrutiny for demanding, among other things, a six-figure payment toward her American Express bill from a donor who wanted her to connect him with top government officials. No lessons learned, I guess!

Jesse spent years treating Texas like a Republican family heirloom. Dust it off every election, collect the electoral votes, and never ask the people living there whether they're happy. Then Texans made a different choice, and suddenly he's on Fox delivering a eulogy for the entire Republican Party. That's the part I love: the panic isn't that voters changed their minds. It's that Jesse seems genuinely offended they were allowed to. He went from assuming Texas was theirs forever to declaring the White House lost forever in one election night. That's not political analysis. That's a man discovering voters aren't tenants on the GOP's property.
Watters: Democrat governors now control a majority of states. Democrats are on pace for the biggest midterm landslide since Watergate. If Texas stays blue, a Republican will never sniff the White House ever again.

‼️Arizona Republicans BLAME Turning Point For Midterm Disaster And DEMAND They Close Their Doors. 👀 The Arizona Republican Party is now openly blaming Turning Point Action for the midterm losses and calling for the organization to close its doors. Former Arizona GOP Chair Gina Swoboda said Turning Point must take ownership of the results because large numbers of Republicans simply refused to vote. Nearly every Turning Point-endorsed candidate in Arizona lost, and several of the races were not close. Andy Biggs trailed Katie Hobbs by roughly ten points. The same pattern held in the attorney general and secretary of state races. Both Corporation Commission candidates and the state mine inspector were also behind. Swoboda described the no-show voters as a protest. She said there was no candidate on the ballot that would bring them out, and she warned donors to stop funding an organization that is destroying the party. The same results appeared in Nevada and New Hampshire, where Turning Point also invested heavily. Only one of their endorsed candidates is winning across both states. The organization that once claimed major influence in its home state is now being told by the state party to shut down. The midterms delivered the verdict.
