Speaking at the Canterbury Centre for Policing Research’s annual conference, Dr Emma Williams – Director of the Open University’s the Centre for Policing Research and an academic with years of experience exploring the #Police approach to #rape cases – gave her overview of why reform in this area is so difficult to get right, and her hopes that Operation Soteria could provide the path to progress, as Policing Insight’s James Sweetland reports.

Immensely proud of our first 2 cohorts of PCDA students from @NYorksPolice who graduated today! What an achievement for you all - juggling FT work & studying for a degree. Huge congrats, it is well deserved and something you can be proud of forever! 👏 🥳 @OU_FBL #policeeducation
Our first two cohorts of North Yorkshire Police PCDA students graduated today! Huge congratulations from all of us in the @OUPolicing and beyond. It’s no mean feat studying for a FT degree anyway, let alone working FT & managing the demands of policing. You deserve this!
