The 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act is one of the most comprehensive pieces of housing legislation in decades, which makes its implementation complex. The Bipartisan Policy Center’s associate director of housing, @arnoldk7, was quoted in @struppj’s @multifamilydive piece on what comes next for ROAD. As Kristen noted, “it’s possible that many of the programs in ROAD will not receive funding until fiscal year 2028, at the earliest.” Read the full piece for more on implementation. multifamilydive.com/news/mul…

What a lot of people don’t realize: today’s mortgage rates aren’t historically unusual. We’ve seen them before in the ‘70s through the ‘90s. What’s different? Everything else. Insightful piece from @juliezweil of the @washingtonpost.
At the all-time low, the national average rate for a 30-year mortgage was in the 2-percent range for much of 2020 and 2021. Those days are gone. And for would-be buyers, today’s old-is-new-again rates are painful, sometimes even prohibitive. Here’s why: wapo.st/47qLkSS
