With the parity we’re seeing in college football, maybe it’s time we stop asking “who’s the best team in college football” and just accept that a ranking is simply that.
Miami is deservedly the #1 “ranked” team (IMO), but I don’t know if they’re “the best team” because I don’t think anyone can actually say they do know…and that’s what the playoffs will settle.

Some of the worst coaching I’ve ever seen at the end of the UCF BYU game.
UCF had 15 secs left and a stopped clock.
First down - QB spikes the ball. Um, what?? 14 secs left.
Second down - instead of running to the middle of the field to give your lefty kicker a better angle, they throw the ball out of bounds. Plenty of time to run to the middle and then spike the ball. 11 secs left.
3rd down - blocked FG, but UCF K recovers.
Looks like they get another shot on 4th.
Nope. BYU ripped the helmet off of the kicker’s head. Initially it drew a flag. Instead, they pick up the flag, and give the Knights a 10 second run off.
Over time.
1) Just absolutely awful coaching by Frost there. Manic confusion. Terrible decisions.
2) How does BYU benefit from ripping someone’s helmet off?
And another thing…why was the dude in the booth constantly pronouncing my coach’s name like “merrio”
