Amazing photo on the back cover of Edinburgh Life magazine of the recently refurbished palm houses at Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, with my wife holding the doors open.

Good to see people wearing a poppy already. I buy one each year and fix my old regimental cap badge poppy on top of it. 5th Royal Inniskilling Dragoon Guards.

Excellent meeting today to discuss being part of the Abernethy Highland Games in August 2027. I’ll be the after dinner speaker on Friday night and giving a talk on King William the Lion on Saturday as well as taking part in the Chieftan’s Parade at the opening ceremony.

Nothing says the Spirit of Christmas more than a sparkly Triceratops tree decoration in the M&S festive section. Only £6.

I know this film has divided critics, but Fackham Hall had me laughing out. I loved it.

Fantastic reception at Edinburgh City Chambers hosted by the Lord Provost to launch ambitious plans for the 2027 Tartan Day Parade in the city.

Delighted to be invited by Lord Strathspey to be the after dinner speaker at the Clan Grant gathering next year and to join the procession to the Abernethy Games the next day.

Really enjoyed speaking at the Arbroath Food and Music Festival last week. Needless to say the dram of The Cargill the audience received went down a storm.

Replying to @CityFibre
@CityFibre how often do I have to contact you about your staff blocking mine and my two neighbours driveways??? I’m fed up now and want to escalate this. Please advise how I can do this. Treating people with contempt and indifference like this is not acceptable. #Edinburgh

Just to be clear, there is enough parking within a few feet to make this unnecessary and in addition, the loud swearing is also unacceptable.

Couple of vintage Arbroath Abbey souvenirs I have. The first is a brass door knocker with the Arbroath coat of arms and the second is cup, saucer and side plate set with the abbey on them. #Arbroath

Great to see Arbroath Fest mentioned in the Sunday Times. I’ll be speaking at the event on the importance of the whisky sector and the international brands I’ve led the development of.

Once Scotland was out of the World Cup, I didn't feel the need to transfer my support to another team, I've just been enjoying the world class football. The expectation that people should support another team for whatever reason when this happens is nonsense.

Hi @CityFibre can you tell me how often I have to contact you and ask that your drivers don’t block 3 different driveways with your vans in our cul de sac? There is a half empty car park 10 feet away. We can’t get out yet again. #Edinburgh

I’m actually interested in why your staff keep doing it?
