UK MPs accepted £400,000 of hospitality to concerts, sports, other events. Donors get access, buy influence. Despite £98,599 pay+expenses, too many MPs have second jobs, neglect duties, obey paymasters. Political corruption, legislators for hire. theguardian.com/uk-news/2026…

A wealth tax, as well as fairer taxes on corporate profiteers and the highest earners, would deliver far more money than any cuts to benefits and public services.

The new Prime Minister talks a lot of about helping with the cost of living crisis. This is the one single measure that would help the most and save £billions. All talk. Continuity Starmer. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cx2d… – at Islington, London

I have written to the new Prime Minister to ask if he will support my Bill for a public inquiry into Britain's complicity in genocide. This government faces a simple choice: be on the right side, or block our efforts to expose the truth.

The Labour government remains deeply in the pockets of private companies and vested interests. It is impossible to ignore their bought and paid for influence over the likes of West Streeting and others appointed to Burnham's cabinet. From arms manufacturers and private healthcare firms, to AI companies and fossil fuel giants, we must remove the influence of lobbyists from our politics and hand power to our communities.
🚨EXCLUSIVE: Newly appointed Defence Secretary Wes Streeting has taken tens of thousands of pounds from donors with links to arms firms and controversial US tech firm Palantir, The National can reveal👇 thenational.scot/news/264017…

Finally! Somewhere in the press this story is reported for what it actually is - it’s not about damages as the Guardian led with, which confused many people yesterday - this is about a new finding in law, one that over turns 30 years of Libel law - which shielded newspapers from action when they wrote misleading headlines. The law until yesterday had what they call a ‘legal fiction’ at its heart - that we all read headlines and articles and so a misleading headline is ok if corrected in the article. We used GDPR law to challenge that and won, in the process we’ve set a new obligation of fairness on the press. Using legislation from the 21st Century we overturned (in effect) legislation from the 20th Century - from almost before the internet. For some reason our media are not reporting this, those that cover the story focus on damages - that’s mis or dis reporting in my view - the story here is a new duty of fairness on the press, enforceable in law - and it will protect everyone in our country.   Given that GDP laws are European - it’s likely that this finding will protect 600 million people across the continent. That’s why I say - Headlines will never be the same again….:) pressgazette.co.uk/media_law…
