And lest we forget, 2008 also brought us government funded 200% ltv HARP loans. If 2008 market conditions happened today, housing inventory would be absorbed in a month - millions just waiting for lower rates
Replying to @mortgagetruth
Commercial banks, insurers, pension funds, etc. would absolutely love for you to pay off your mortgages early so they can reinvest at today’s much higher rates. But most homeowners w/ these cheap fixed-rate loans are smart enough not to.

Reason number 7,439,642 @GavinNewsom shouldn't be allowed to make decisions that impact others. The families? They don't matter. Gavin's feelings and political clout matter more than innocent victims. Also, this demon is an illegal immigrant, because of course he is
Dear Governor, Just over 12 years ago, Sacramento County Sheriff’s Deputy Danny Oliver and Placer County Sheriff’s Detective Michael Davis Jr. were brutally executed by Luis Bracamontes. Bracamontes was a convicted drug dealer in the midst of a crime spree with his girlfriend when he opened fire on Danny as he approached his vehicle. Bracamontes fled, carjacked several vehicles, shot a civilian before fatally shooting Detective Michael Davis Jr. with a rifle and seriously wounding Davis’ partner, Deputy Jeff Davis. I went to that crime scene and remember every detail vividly. I also remember watching Bracamontes laugh in court while their families, including Danny’s two young daughters, had to sit and watch. Bracamontes was convicted of murder by a jury of his peers, who then sentenced him to death. Deputy Danny Oliver and Detective Michael Davis Jr. should be alive today, enjoying long and healthy lives with their families. Instead, the man who murdered them has now escaped his sentence. Governor, I urge you to reconsider any proposal to commute the death sentences of all 548 people on death row, especially that of Luis Bracamontes. This isn’t just about the death penalty. It’s about accountability, honoring the decisions of juries, respecting the will of California voters, and standing with the families of victims who have already suffered unimaginable loss.

Somebody get the labor market on some Lithium, it's been bipolar for all of 2026...dismal reports followed by strong reports - trustworthy? Not according to the markets today. #Mortgage rates resilient and unchanged from yesterday on the news. Good news for home shoppers! #BLS

Lots of "should I lock my #mortgage rate" questions in the past 48 hours. My advice? If you're comfortable with payments, locking avoids potential volatility. Short term (next couple weeks), floating is risky. Beyond that, I see rates continuing to move lower. #realestate

As an @Eagles fan, I hope this guy does well. Total star pre-injury, if he can get back a semblance of that version of himself, it'll be the @Vikings , @ChicagoBears , and the rest of the NFC won't matter.
Just in: Vikings QB Carson Wentz will start Monday night’s game vs. the Buffalo Bills while Kyler Murray deals with what the team has called a “sore hamstring.”

Prop 37 is a combination of dumb and much ado about nothing. Homebuyers across the US can ALREADY buy a home with just 3% down. With no income restrictions. And the choice between new build & existing property. Unnecessary program, with a worrisome lack of details available.

In #Mortgage news, just had my first 3.6 appraisal come back in...and I like it. Clean, easy to read and follow format. Definitely an improvement. Hopefully the appraisal software world catches on, I guess that's the crux?

If you bitch about taxing the rich, then also vote for over $4B to go to a billionaire prop sponsor... ...you're what's wrong with California a) props need to be written differently & easier to understand b) 23.1% of CA adults can't read, and it shows every.single.election.
Some dude in California running a 3-person company got voters to give him $4.2 billion by authoring a ballot measure, which passed

#Mortgage rates improved on the midterm results...but for how long? I went into detail on what we're seeing, and where rates are likely to head next - long term it's good news...short term? Proceed with caution. #RealEstate loom.com/share/4a7ff4033c904…

Every ingredient available at Costco I use half a scoop of whey but you can use a full scoop for extra protein, too. 46g protein ~350 calories (adjust for how many berries you add) The ultimate guilt-free snack. Whey, yogurt, chia, and berries. That’s it.

I 2nd this (I was a pretty terrible human at 30), and I'd add: you're just getting started if you're open to learning and growth.
That it’s not too late to turn your situation around.

Taxes vary nationally, from annual to biannual - my advice? Pay the taxes & insurance SEPARATE from your #mortgage when possible. It eliminates your servicer from inevitably screwing things up. Also allows you to gain interest on your money all year before the bill's due.
I read a post this morning that said, “my escrow analysis got my mortgage going down $200.” This is a great reminder: separating taxes and insurance from your mortgage payment, also known as “waiving impounds” will prevent payment fluctuations. Tax and insurance costs will vary, a payment with a fixed rate doesn’t. Taxes are due twice a year, insurance once a year. Separate them, keep your money under your own management, and win. I explain to my clients that setting up an impound account is like taking a portion of your savings, handing it to the mortgage servicer and telling them to manage the money for the future tax and insurance bills. You can do that yourself.

Just voted - MIND BLOWING to see so many props on the ballot "authorizing billions...". If Californians are too dumb to NOT give more billions to the same people who have continually wasted billions...I may have to relocate. @SteveHiltonx please stop the madness!

Look...I don't pretend to have middle east politics figured out...but I WILL say, after 30 years of Iran being "weeks away" from a Nuke, I'm just saying maybe we should be hesitant to react too quickly...
BREAKING: Israel has informed the US that their intelligence indicates that Iran is "weighing" the use of chemical weapons, per NY Times. Israeli intel has reportedly been met with "alarm and skepticism" by US officials. Gulf officials have also questioned the Israeli assessment. Meanwhile, US Central Command reportedly has plans for strikes as soon as tomorrow, but they have not been authorized yet. Some US officials have suggested that Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu is attempting convince President Trump to resume bombing Iran.

Trying to FORCE AI on the world is a pretty big warning sign that AI isn't performing at a level the AI companies promised. If we wanted it and it was truly valuable, there'd be no need for this. SO much money invested in the space, pretty terrifying.
BREAKING: Google will turn off Search entirely for schools that opt out of its AI features, per The New York Times. Schools can’t disable Google’s AI Overviews or AI Mode on their own. Now, if they reject AI, they lose Search altogether, per NYT

#california, @SteveHiltonx needs a shot to turn things around here. Vote accordingly. I understand it’s easy to vote in protest to where we are today - but socialism isn’t it. And read the props carefully - they’re written to be confusing, and many are a huge waste of money

Unpopular opinion: I love setting the clocks back. Woke up at 6 feeling great, got an early start, and was super productive. And it means winter is coming 🏂 Disclaimer: I work a job I can do outside stuff mid-day and get back to work when the sun sets at 2pm.
